I agree. This definitely needs to be a priority. When I'm flying around planets in my UFO, I still always make the mistake of looking for ice caps to orient me as to where the poles are. Also, it would be very satisfying to melt them with my heat ray.

Just found rain in my game. It's kind of blurry but I made a video of it.

its and effect but you need to be omnivorous to make tha happen i want effects that can happen to every kind of creature and at any time

Herbivors get it not omnivors.

Rain does happen just like night does. Just very rarely and only if you don't evolve for a long time.
