I don't know, I thought the results of the "Should Maxis make Science-Spore?" poll were better. (192 to 16, majority Yes)

Well I don't know enough to know if it IS his fault, but I know that when Sony started acting idiotic a little while back, they changed up their management and suddenly it was like logic returned. So perhaps a change would be for the best. If so, I doubt he'll complain too much. CEOs get payed severance packages that almost make taking the job in the first place worth it. (Which is idiotic and stated to change at this point, but it'll take a while and I can't blame them for liking it.)

This might be why 60% of the people on the forums enjoy spore instead of closer to 20%. Gamers who have never heard of Earth 2150, Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns or Warzone 2100. Anyway, no offense, just saying like it is.

The sad part is... Those are the only three games that have any customizable material regarding the units (and Kohan barely fits in that category).

Sim games like the Roller Coaster Tycoon series and Sim City 2&3 also have editors. Have you ever played these? Or is just point, click and shoot for you? Might I suggest that you are wasting money because there exists high quality freeware action games?

I will admit that the idea that the C&C pack will include better game play has upped my patience enough to where I am no longer irate about EA, Heckler or any thing else that may have made the first game so lacking. It's just hard to tell if they noticed or cared about the anger they caused in the veteran RTS and Simulation gaming community. I just want this to be what it was supposed to be. Sim Everything.

I'm not sure if he should be fired, but I think the next time they have choice either to pull a Star Craft 2 type of thing where they split the game into pieces or they raise the price that they should just chose to raise the price. I would have paid $80 for full out, no holds barred Sim Everything. I would have paid another $80 for an expansion that doubles that games content. Sure it's more work. But there'd be much less anger from their fans and they'd make $10 more per game than Star Craft 2 will make [and BTW just lost many potential buyers because of the split and also due to making battle (dot) net require a monthly cost (um, hello, it's a dot net!)]. Anyway, I hope this expansion adds enough for me to actually want to buy it, but I won't be surprised if I find out it is not worth my money. I will just be very disappointed. Anyway, it's too hard to tell, but maybe EA has noticed the crisis that they created and have realized how bad it has gotten. Also if the CEO really does screw up too much, they will fire him (at least that's what a smart board of directors does). Apparently, they just might be hiding their material. The only problem is that good surprises only work on happy people. You surprised us in a bad way with this first installment. I'll wait for it though, before I choose to boycott EA.

Edit: So with that in mind, what about the option to choose: C. I am waiting to see how the C&C expansion goes?

Then you'd be looking to hire Ubisoft.

If you're looking for a hitman you might try Eidos..

There will only be an opening if everyone who had stock in EA demanded change. A majority of stockholders would have to force him out - or a vote by directors.

Feel free to comment on my work! Also, I can has fanclub? I have 1038 creations and one feature...

I hope will pull the same stunt as Bungie did last year. However, they've probably been too melded with EA for an actually company split.

The Fifth Gaming Commandment

The Second Gaming Commandment

Sort of unrelated, but it felt necessary.

I think the EA board is a much bigger problem than the current CEO. That's the main source of EA's ancient evil and has always been. And their minions are the marketing managers.
If anything Riccietello has gone against the stream. He has only very recently returned to EA, so logically he cannot have had much to do with the last round of disasters. That's more due to EA traditional mismanagement.

So I voted no. ...Since I chose to approach this from a positive side. There is the other, ofc, if one wants EA to go down the drain and die asap.

Soooooooo, turns out, will wright has spoken on the issue of Spore's DRM.

"It was something I probably should have tuned into more," Wright told Kotaku at last night's Popular Mechanics Breaktrough Awards. "It was a corporate decision to go with DRM on Spore. They had a plan and the parameters, but now we’re allowing more authentications and working with players to de-authenticate which makes it more in line like an iTunes."

"I think one of the most valid concerns about it was you could only install it so many times. For most players it’s not an issue, it’s a pretty small percentage, but some people do like wiping their hard disk and installing it 20 times or they want to play it 10 years later."

EA CEO LIED ABOUT SPORE SALES

Per NPD Group (sales tracking group, highly reputable) npd.com

Spore realised sales of 406K

Thats a far outcry from the 500k-1M sales that EA CEO John Riccitiello claimed. If I were a member of the board of directors, I'd be wondering why I was lied to....

That would mean Spore was pirated more than it sold (i wonder why that is)
