I read something like that too, but keeping service agreements is not EA's strong suit. Not that I really mind at this point. They've actually supported a "free" data-heavy client-server application for far longer than I expected them to -- at least one full hardware contract's worth.

And honestly, how far do you thing we'd get trying to build a class action suit to support access that "disappears" due to technical difficulties? Like not very.

At this point, I think rather than complaining about lack of support or extensions, users should thank their good fortune the client is still supported. While one can (sort of) "play" spore without the server component, the game is a very pale version compared to the richness of the silent, unsolicited, NPC content sharing, which is a large part of the genius of this game and why it's unique.

Was hoping to find the bot parts, but missed out completely. Guess I started playing Spore way too late... Seems that the Sims is doing quite well, but the games all appear to be the same.

Anyways, if they give a 30-day warning, like they're supposed to, I'll be ready. I'll have a draft fully complete, and I will pm every respectable roleplayer there is. In that draft will be the link to a forum that is a safe haven, where we can rp freely. Where the story wind can brush our face, and we look out at the beautiful writing sunset. And know.

But seriously, I stopped caring a long time ago. EA has abandoned us, that's true. They are evil, thats true. But they gave use a d*mn good forum. Don't forget that.

You should feel lucky that EA has held on this long. So far, I think the oldest game that has servers for forums, or for the game, is Halo: Combat Evolved. Ten years running, and we still have fun.

Its rare for companies to hold on this long, believe me.

DON'T make nasty, pointed, remarks about people and then expect them to treat you decently.
DON'T call people trolls because they have more experience, are erudite, or more knowledgeable than you.
DON'T assume that every remark is made to denigrate you. Most of the time the "nasty troll" is responding to what you SAY, not you personally. Said "Troll" doesn't care about "you", just your assertion.

Or as Hunter says in Franklin's Tower "Whatever way your pleasure tends, you plant ice, you gonna harvest wind." Which is a nice way of saying "DON'T be a d*ck".

The tenor of your own posting has all the earmarks of why people respond to you in kind. No one is going to be "nice" to you when you make very thinly veiled nasty remarks.

Okay, I said Halo: Combat Evolved, but this is it on the internet.

And I was posting it as a fact. The Trial, PC and CE servers are still up-and-running. You take into account how old it is, and how much money that particular game is making at the moment(not much, its old) you've got to appreciate the fact that there are kind people in the game business.

Welp, I guess EA abandoned SPORE.

Meh.

And by the way, Uroker, VERY EPIC FAIL. I've onlybeen here 18 days longer than you.
