One strange thing that I and others have noticed is the global generation of a rain effect when the adventureLook -filmnoir is turned on...Even if all rain effects have been removed...Is this an intended part of the filter? If so, it kind of causes problems for indoor scenes

These definately broaden the horizons for making adventures with certain themes- Charlie Chaplin here I come!

Besides that, I'd like to see a stylefilter or cheat of some sort to make the Captain avatar invisible- it would make taking thumbnail photos and screen-shots for GAs that much easier.

What you can do is move the captain temporarily, then in test drive mode press CTRL ALT C to enter free camera mode, in this mode you can move around like in build mode. So now you can go move anywhere and take a screenshot.

Thanks very much for that one! Another useful tool for me to play around with...

You entered the "cheat" incorrectly.
Enter it like this:
adventureLook -sixteenbit

How much dirt is there in a hole with the following dimensions: 6x4x3?
Did you answer correctly? Good.
How much entertainment is there in a easy points mission with 7 acts that features Clark & Stanley?
The answer is nothing.
(Unless it's how not to make an adventure!)

Is it true that if you use codes you can't get achievements anymore

Only with certain cheats. (E.G AddDNA)
Cheats that have effects that do not alter gameplay (such as AdventureLook or StyleFilter) aren't counted as "cheats". Experiment with cheats in the space stage, you'll know when you're "cheating" when it gives you the Joker award.
