Profile Viewer Update:
- Added a Buddies tab. The tab displays the most recent creation of the profile’s buddies.
- You can press the Enter key to prompt a new profile search.
- Oh, and I change the name of this thread to qualityspore.com.

This is all new code so I am sure there are bugs. Let me know if you find any.

Found a small problem, in the description '& a p o s ;'(I added spaces because the forum was forcing it to a correct apostrophe lol) is displayed instead of an apostrophe(').

Keep up the good work Spider!

Hey Sniper, I just sent you a PM with some ideas I wanted to tell you about. Just want to make sure you notice it through this PM system.

I am using Flash 8 and Actionscript 2.0. Unfortunately, Flash 8 will not smooth dynamically loaded images from other servers. It's time to start saving for an upgrade to Flash CS4!

Thanks sourice!

I found a fix for this and it will be live by the end of day. Unfortunately, the fix isn't global and includes me replacing each individual symbol. These are the symbols I have identified so far:

& a p o s ; = '
& a m p ; = &
& g t ; = >
& l t ; = <

Please let me know if you find any more of these symbols.

The biggest feature in this update is the addition of the parent. The above image shows I modified my human creature to make my Night Elf creature. This can be used by the community to identify copied (stolen?) creations. I was pleased to find that large majority of creations are original and have no parent. Although I did find a few highly rated creations that were obvious copies... tsk! tsk!

Other updates:
- Slight design tweaks to creation viewer and profile viewer. (I am a constant design tweaker... get used to it)
- Fixed symbol display in description. (Thanks for pointing this out sourice!)
- Removed creature height meter. (I will bring this back in a future update.)
- Creature stats are visible when viewing vehicles, buildings, and spaceships. (Not sure I like this.)
- Profile Viewer: The next and previous buttons work as expected in the buddies tab.
- Profile Viewer: Added text underline to rollovers of the creations and buddies tab.

fantastic addition, I really like that idea

*EDIT*

I think there may be some bugs with it. Some of my first creations were modifications of other peoples (don't worry I've always credited the original creator in the description) but I find that only one of them shows their parent. It would have been nice to be able to display how much I had changed each creation, does this mean there off the server now or is it a bug?

Would you give me a link to the creation that you know has a parent but display "no parent?" My guess is that the original parent is no longer on the server.

In code I know the difference between a creation with no parent and creation with a parent that isn't on the server. I chose to display "no parent" in both cases because I can't display a picture of a creation that isn't on the server.

I can see how that would be confusing if you're looking at your own creations and know there is a parent. Perhaps I can change the messaging to "unknown parent" when there is a parent, but it isn’t on the server.

I think the problem runs a little deeper actually. This depends though, would a creature I have on the server be the parent of the same creature in tribal armour also on the server? Because this is not showing up either. I'll start sending you some examples now.

Interesting, I never thought of it from this perspective. The API says your tribal creature has no parent. I believe Maxis sees the tribal creature as an evolution and not a parent of the original creature... but I can see your point. Perhaps "parent" is the wrong label.

I don't know what to say about this one. The API says your modified creature has no parent.

EDIT: I just realized the original creature wasn't yours... so my previous question doesn't apply. Honestly I'm at a loss why your Blooper doesn't have a parent.

You are revealing a lot of holes in my new feature. No worries, that’s a good thing. At a minimum I think the labels "parent" and "no parent" need to change.

I'm sorry to keep stabbing at this but it's strange how it doesn't work in this situation but does in this:

http://www.qualityspore.com/CreationViewer.htm?id=500289887625

The civ outfit appears to work as the parent for the space outfit here unlike the above example. I think the label "parent" is quite effective though, it works well in this context. Something just seems to get lost in translation.

No, no… I really appreciate the feedback!! Your above example proves me wrong. A civ creature can be a parent to a space creature. If that is the case, “parent” is an effective label.

I still have no idea why your two examples don’t have parents. Perhaps it is an error in the API.

I doubt the problems your end tbh, it's still a great addition with loads of potential.
