I'm sorry, Dave. I can't let you read that.

Poster4, please do not hijack this thread to complain.

If you need help in the help forums and would like to ask for assistance from a Maxis employee, there is a wonderful system we have here on the forums called "Private Messaging."

First off:It's about time this forum came into existance! now we can visit "the source".

Also:Why'd you take out the aquatic stage? And don't give me that "Movement issues" garbage, you could go up and down like in space(-/+). And it could bridge that gargantuan evolutional gap between cell and creature.

I agree with that 100%, and it looked good in the vids too.

You know if you live in 2009 if:

1.You go to a party, sit down and take pics and put them on facebook
2.You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.
3.The reason for not staying in touch with your friends is that they don't have MSN/facebook/Bebo/MySpace.
4.You'd rather look all over the house for the remote instead of just pushing the button on the TV.
6.Your evening activity is sitting at the computer.
7.You can't remember your own phone number
8.You read this list, and keep nodding and smiling.
9.You think about how stupid you are for reading this.
10.You were too busy to notice number five.
11.You actually scrolled back up to check if there was a number five.
12.And now you're laughing at your stupidity.

so get this. say you have a box in your sporepage that tells you informaation of what people did. for example, "this person downrater this creation." or "this person downloaded this creation of yours." and just like checking your most popular creations, you can look at your most nonpopular creations.

Hey look! An Uprater!---->

Sorry, but that would give way too much info. What if you downrate a new player and they ban all your creations?

While I really appreciate all the efforts from Maxis to build up new Applications, i´m somehow disappointed, that they are all made for the Sporepedia, but not for the Game itself. People already urged for the need, to build in a rating-feature into the Game and bind ratings to comments...I think this should have top priority, just as a Asymmetrie-Button for the Creature Editor and a Option in Ingame-Sporepedia to easily rename your Planets/Systems, without the need to open the console.

The new Application made for the Sporepedia-Profile needs much, much, much more Information on my Buddies, because the Ingame Buddy-Profile is given me much more feedback on them, and so I prefer the ingame-Buddy-Browsing...

The only Reason i´m goin to the Sporepedia, is to rate and comment and to build my Sporecasts. So the new Applications should mainly concentrate to make Sporecasting, rating and commenting much more easier, more comfortable and specially more honest (concerning the rate System). Again, bind ratings to comments and the downrate attacks on Sporepedia will end forever...if you bind rates to comments, also the fanboying will be entirely stopped and the People will finally start to make true and honest comments and maybe even start to write some critics (what I badly miss)...what I mean is: Look at my Comments...the comments either say I´m awesome or the people are amazed by my work, but nobody is so honest to tell me what he thinks how to improve my creations...basically because they´re afraid of a backslash effect. Once you bind ratings to comments and vice versa, all this problems will be history.

@Snobau has a brilliant Idea...and I think you Maxis-Developers should help him and later inccoperate his Idea into the Sporums...it would be so much fun, if there´s a little Mini-Game on Sporums, where people can compete their Creatures...I imagine gigantic Tournaments...

Edit: Oh, forgot to mention one thing. There should be a Tutorial from one of you Maxis-Developers to teach people how to make certain Applications. I´m fairly good at modding Game-Files...but Web-Coding is a xcompletely new terrain.

And yeah...since this is a Developer-Corner you also should incooperate Mods into this Forums and actively start to "develope" your own Mods and give them to the Community. I understand this is only for Web-Applications, but I wish you Guys could change your mind about that.

I´m pretty sure the Community would love you, if support Mods and Mod-Developers over here...and I won´t get tired to tell you over and over again...

True. And could get to that with the comment/rate system too... so all thumb-downs would probably show as possitive comments. (end of ANY sort of critique) Since they are linked, better would be to have no side-account voting, at all, and decay only in the ammount of rating per day you can give or something like that... both possitive and negative.

Is it possible to show the Creations on Web-Site in 3D ?

I would like to see a Application that gives me a 3D view, without the need to get into the Game.

I'm not a developer, but is there a way to extract comments in xml or at least text from a certain date range? Paging through old comments to respond is really driving me crazy! If I could a have a table of who commented on what ordered by date, would help me a lot!

Thanks in advance for any kind of feedback!

We'll be documenting a comments service soon... but here's a sneak peak:
