I have awesome specs and play Crysis on full graphics. But you my friend are a SPORE. System Specs don't make the game crash. I get crashes all the time but only in Spore.

Spore's minimum reqs says a 2.0 P4 Processor... ya, that was "high end" 5 years ago, and in computer age, thats more like several thousand years. And most computers come standard with 1 gig of ram minimum now days.

Your Spore is crashing because you touch yourself.

My game used to crash any time I captured a planet, any planet. I stopped playing for about a week or so then the new patch came out but it stilled crashed so I decided to make a completely new game on a different part of the Galaxy, and it hasn't crashed ONCE! .

Specs seem to be irrelevant, however I've noticed a ton of noobs going 'Omgz your hardwarez is too low!11' so I'm guessing it seems people with lame computers aren't crashing, but those of us with high-end Core 2 Duo's and 4800 Ati's etc are having all the problems...

Well, excuse me for being POOR.

I'm sorry I'm not RICH like you and can only afford a computer once every five years if I'm lucky enough to put away that much money. Hell, I was lucky enough to buy a new computer THIS YEAR for school purposes since they restructured who has access to the computer labs, but I was able to buy a computer for school purposes using school money (READS: Grants).

And excuse me for being smart enough not to put Spore on my "work" computer because it is designed for work purposes only and not for play. Oh, sure, it may have a better graphics card and processing speed, but you know what? It's my work computer! You don't go installing games on your work computer.

So excuse me for not being a part of the UPPER CLASS.

My game didn't start crashing until I downloaded the patch. Before that it was working fine.

My game used to hang up on me often, and I'd have to reboot the entire computer because my monitor shut off the picture. After the patch, it was much less frequent. Everything is up to par also.

Anybody know how to fix a "dead picture"? Or is it a hardware thing?

System specs:Windows Xp 32bit, Macbook, core two duo, 2.00Ghz, video card is the terrible GMA950 not supported in spore on mac, but is in windows, 3.33GB ram (32bit doesn't allow 4GB).

When I first got Spore I half installed it, but it crashed my computer, Then I tried again after restarting my computer and it worked just fine, but when i started spore it took 10 MINUTES to start and it said "Old graphics driver, Please install a newer driver" And i knew mine was up to date, And then spore ran perfectly the first time, then i quit spore, the next day i tried to open it again, and it sat there for soooooo long and did nothing, So i tried not to worry about it until that night, and i told my computer to open spore again right before bed, and i left it on all night, and nothing happened, So i just lived with reinstalling for a while and then i got mad and i went to my mac side made a new folder, and put all the files from the disk into it and then i put the file in my windows partition, and installed spore WITHOUT the disk, and then i have never had a problem since. Working great, and i now even run Spore galactic advantures, although the graphics (do to my hardware) are a bit bad but whatever...

I hope that might help someone who has the same problem, And don't worry about going to mac to rip the disk, windows should do it just fine.
