Spore initially loads fine for me, cell stage plays fine, but after this at any stage in the game it causes my comp to power off with no errors or warnings.

Anywhere from instantly after loading to 30mins my comp will just shut off and i have to turn it back on.

No overheating (watercooled) and PSU is perfectly stable( tested it).

been playing a while now - well into space stage with a few crashes here and there (only space stage).
As of last night, when ever I try and leave my homes planet it crashes - everytime!

Basically, game over for me.
There goes my 100 Aussie dollars
If this doesn't fix itself, I'll be requesting a refund.

I have had no crashes up until the space age. Crashes only seem to happen when zooming out from planet level to the solar system view. Played the space age fine for a day when I first got to it but then it crashed, then played for a few hours before it crashed again, now i'll play for maybe 30 mins before it crashes.

I've had zero problems before but now it's just crashing randomly whenever I zoom out.

Computer specs:

EVGA Nvidia 8800GTX single card
Q6600 Quad core 2.4 GHz
HT Omega Claro sound card
Abit IP35 Pro motherboard

I've seen a few people have reinstalled and solved problems, i might just do that but really don't want to if I lose all my progress in game.

noelleon30 I believe we are in the same boat. When booting up my computer I used to get the "You aren't online" error when EA Download Manager booted up. I don't have Download Manager on the computer anymore though.

In the space stage, when going to a specific planet my game just crashes. And it's just this planet. Not the system around the planet. Not any of the other planets inhabited by this race. Just this planet. I need to go there to finish a mission but I can't get on it to do what I gotta do. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance.

Now, I can't take over one of the colonies the "Minataur" race stole from me. It's their last colony. Never had any issues destroying empires or taking over planets but now apparently I do.

Meh, I have to Ctrl+alt+del my way through the game (not that I mind as long as it works >>;), but whenever my creatures go to migrate to a new nest the game stops responding. o_o It's very strange.

edit: My Drivers are up to date, my machine's up to par.

My crash is when I try and advance to the civilization stage. Every time I click on the advance button it crashes me to desktop. It would happen every now and then when advance from the cell stage to creature stage but eventually it would go through. Now I can not get any farther at all in the game I have updated everything I could, turned off all the stuff in background not needed. Tried windowed mode, tried off-line , tried with the EA download manager removed etc. etc.

I have exactly the same issue. Every other game I through at my (brand new) machine it handles it without a single problem. Though I have a feeling it has something to do with my AMD Dual Core Optimizer software. What proc do you have?

OS: Windows XP Home SP3 (All latest drivers)CPU: AMD AM2 Dual Core 6000+ 3Ghz
GFX: XFX Geforce 9600 XXXRAM: 2Gig of DDR2 1066Mgz Corsair

youd think with all these problems a sporemaster would at least be around telling us something like theyre working on a patch or something so were not left in the dark.

I believe they will post something. But that won't be till tomorrow during normal work hours most likely. For the weekend...we are all just slightly out of luck. As for the leaving the home planet error I have been having. No such luck on a resolution. I've tried adjusting my graphics way down, then way up, then somewhere in between. No improvement.

just like shadowrakken said my game randomly crashed when i switched screens for cut scenes and stuff. I turned down the graphics cache to 512 and i put all of the graphics settings on low and this seems to have fixed the crashes.............for now.
