I know you can edit the shortcut to go to a certain editor at the start of spore (fauna/advanced cell mainly), is there a way to make spore open as a window? It opens faster as a window, and allows me to do other things as it's opening, and then once it's loaded I can set it as fullscreen again, however I often forget to set it to window mode before closing it...

when it loads go to settings.then i think graphic settings. it should say full screen mode in a box and so u click on that and it becomes a window

It only opens marginally faster windowed, but at least it doesn't take over the machine and prevent you from switching focus when it's windowed.

Setting the priority for the job, and cutting out any unneeded windows services will do more to getting it to load faster.

Especially under powered machines like netbooks.

I've been thinking of playing Spore as a window so I can use the forums and play Spore at the same time. It would at least allow me to talk with my team mates for the Halloween contest about the adventure.

Main reason I want this is so when it starts up I am able to do other things on the computer rather than just watch a black screen for 3 minutes (yes, 3 minutes, I have listened to a 3 minute song, which finished just before it started)

If you have a windows(computer), then you go into settings, and click a little box somewhere. If you have a mac, then you press COMMAND and RETURN.
