Every time I click on my planet the game crashes and displays the error message "Exception raised: unhandled page fault on read access to 0x0000010 at address 0x00607946. Do you wish to debug it?" I talked to tech support and they said there's NOTHING I CAN DO, that sometimes when you save the game files will get corrupted. So for something I didn't even cause, all that time and effort I put into my empire, all gone..!
If something so important can be lost so easily, shouldn't EA fix this problem???? There has to be a way to not lose EVERYTHING just cause of some corrupted files! If this can happen to anyone at anytime, if you are at the risk of losing your game every time you save it, what's the point of playing Spore and investing so much time into building/advancing your empire??
I had gone to the center of the galaxy and even found Earth. I had found most of the artifacts/stones/scrolls/you name it. And for what? So I can lose it all the work I've done and never get it back again?

Did you try debugging like the error says?

Thats what happened to me. You might want to back up your saves and creatures.

Yes, of course. It doesn't make a difference whether I click Yes or No. Result = Game still crashes and nothing happens.

Go check the stickies in the help section.
I think there is a fix for this. You may find it by checking the stickied faq, and you should also ask for the thread to be moved over there. You will get more reliable help.

I don't see how backing up prevents anything, though. The "corrupted files" are still in that game. I don't see how I would ever get it back unless EA released a patch to fix the issue.
