Look over in the feedback forum, and also Google. The regulare wikipedia has a whole article and references to what SecuROM is, how it works and why it is so controversial, and why Spore had such an important role in the controvery.

In short, it's a piece of software to validate that you are running a "real" copy of spore, and allow updates and downloads.

But it acts like malware in some ways, and can play badly with some operating systems, hardware and virus programs.

Ashkelon is so crazy in love she could care less what ya'll are up to these days. Yeah. Sweet.
