I'm just getting back into Spore after picking up a copy of Galactic Adventures. I was looking around at the spoiler sights (mostly the Spore Wiki) for information on space age advantages you earn through the phases. I found a nice table on the Spore Wiki here. All of the descriptions are easy to understand except for the blue cell advantage. It states "Gentle Generalist: Gives you a 20% discount on all standard equipment." But what exactly is "standard equipment"?

stuff like, cargo holds, innerstellar drives, things like that.

In the manual they use the more clear phrase of "Cheaper passive tools" to describle a Space Stage Consequence for being an Omnivore in Cell Stage.

Passive Tools are: Cargo Holds, Energy Storages, Health Upgrades and Interstellar Drives.

You should also know that this discount ONLY applies if you buy from your OWN empire. Since those prices are double of the cheapest possible price found at other empires, the 20% discounts are NOT a good deal!! Some value only in an emergency.

EDIT: No, 'darth vader sly', the discount is not for Main Tools. Those things include Wormhole Keys, Repair Packs, Energy Packs, etc. Those things are always full price.
