I am having many problems with GA and the Spore game. Help, my friends!

#1. Every time I open Spore it says 'Bad Save Game detected, attempting to restore to previous version' and all my data goes poof. That means no save games, no captain data, no anything really.

#2. The above problem makes it so I have to play A.T. every time I open the game. Then when I select a planet to use, it crashes. And I have to repeat A.T.

#3. When I can get into the editor, I cannot save. I click save and 'poof' the game crashes.

Please help! Note, I CANNOT REINSTALL as I have reached my max 5.

All help is appreciated, especially SM!

You can ask EA Tech Support to give you another install I think.

My understanding is that a RE-install on the same computer does not count against your 5 install limit. If you have a corrupt saved game you might have to delete the planet that is crashing your game. This might prevent you from having to reinstall the entire game and may preserve any other saves you might have going.

Before you uninstall, you should run the deauth tool.

The deauthorization tool (there is a link to it in the help section FAQ) will "disconnect" the game from your computer. That way you know for sure that un- and re- installing doesn't "use up" an install.

The problem is, you MUST run it BEFORE you uninstall.

That's hard when the reason you are reinstalling is a motherboard failure or some such.

I know Tech Support was very nice to me when I explained to them, and told them, in order, when and why I had un- and re- installed. At least the first guy was not so nice, but the second one was wonderful.

So call if you need to and give them a chance to help.

And run that deauthorization tool!

The help section folks can instruct you, but it's very simple to use.

@JohnnyPie :: Some changes to the comp might make Spore think it was reinstalled, like parts upgrades or replacements. I know graphics card upgrades and motherboard changes made one of ours "new", but one of those times we were able to run the deauth tool, and so didn't "loose" an install.
