Dude, it's from 1966. Back when the cold war was hot. The USS George Washington was the first fleet ballistic missile submarine and carried 16 of these bad boys. The Polaris A-3 had a range of 2,500 nautical miles (4,631 km). The A-3 featured multiple (10-14) 600 kT nuclear re-entry vehicles (MRVs) which spread the warheads about a common target, with penetration aids to counter Soviet Anti-Ballistic Missile defenses. They say all it takes is one nuclear detenation to ruin your whole day. This puppy could drop enough to ruin 6 months.
