I was just wondering (while i was putting together this sig, actually) about nuclear mutation. Like Godzilla. Godzilla was a type of unknown dinosaur mutated by nuclear fallout. Even the hated american Zilla was mutated (A mutated iguana i think). But anyway, is it possible for a creature to be mutated by nuclear fallout? Would the mutation be very noticble and dramatic or just little? Discuss.

Yeah, sort of. (answer to if creatures can be heavily mutated)

In chernobyl there were little frogs/toads that got mutated and ended up very... odd.

here is something interesting about it:

You probably can also find something on youtube about it.

Well, it depends on whether you include deformities which are the result of the high levles of radiation as mutation.

Some examples:

The one above was still born.

But some mutations can be positive.
As in bringing forth elements of evolution through genes.

Problem is, some mutations that happen aren't that good... (see above)

Pictures were pretty sad. Anyway, I wonder if it's also possible to grant advanced abilities like invulnerability, immense size, or atomic abilities (like Godzillas signature Atomic Breath). It could be plausible. but it might require a large amount of radiation, which could kill you.

There are some mutations that can make you immune to certain diseases/viruses.

Just found this on youtube. Chernobyl victims - mutations.

If it's biologically possible, then radiation can provide it in extremely improbable scenarios, but otherwise no. So things like invulnerability, growth beyond a natural limit, atomic abilities, superhero powers etc. are out. This is not up for discussion on any scientific basis - it DOES NOT WORK.

and to be nice and pationate to those who aren't as lucky.

My Smilies-->I am a practical atheist. I do not believe that there is a scientific need for a god. Science explains things just fine. If you agree, copy-paste this into your sig.

I don't see why you all get up in arms and cry like pansies from some lacerated and singed skin tissue from a human child, when you eat it every day on your dinner plate.
Only difference is that meat is from something which isn't an animal.

It's just biomass, I doubt highly you would say "OH! Those poor frogs with multiple limbs and large right frontal lobes!".

You all over react far to much.
Grow some balls, this is the science section, not the cry because some one who isn't you was exposed to harmful radiation.

Honestly, you durn kids today and your ethics. *Shakes fist.*
