EA needs to put that on the box, that way people won't buy their games.

Cause I absolutely refuse to pay for the additional installations. There is after-all an alternative if my legitimate product gets bricked due to EA's greed.

Yes, if they "leave that out" from the front of the box, they are being "shady" and admitting to me that if they are hiding or withholding it, they are up to no good. If it was, in fact, a legitimate deal, they would clearly state it on the box.

Point is, they hide it... they dance around the subject, and in the end they get caught anyways, and lose customers as a result. The limits are horrible... at least with microsoft, they dont give me any hassles getting an auth code. I admit I've been aggrivated cause EVERYTIME I reinstall XP or Vista I have to call them, cause it says my code is in use (yea BY ME). The posts in these forums are just the opposite, EA in fact, does not make it easy to get additional authorizations... what are they protecting, what are they hiding. Their up to no good, either way, that's for sure.

We all know its not about piracy anymore, that's just finger pointing for a greater motive, whatever that may be. All we can do is speculate. The speculation has not been good thus far, and is grounds for concern. EA needs to stop taking advantage of their customer base.

I like the term used in this response, bricking. I call the whole things extortion, from the very fans no less, low blow.

yes there does seem to be concious action on the part of Maxis to drive customers away.

Not signed. Online petitions are hilarious. They don't accomplish anything of note, and EA will remove the activation limitations when it suits them.

And of course, the cognitive dissonance will be in full effect amongst everybody here when they do, cuz you'll all think the petition worked.

Also if you login with a valid user name, you should be able to play regaurdless if the install is activated.

Without online access, the game is not much more than a cruel demo.

oh, and /signed.

I have to agree with Ascus
