In the Adventure creater you know we have stamps that can creat mountains hills and other things but what about a paint brush tool that you drag the mouse around any part of the planet to make rivers, elevated land, and lowerd land. That way it can be easier to make rivers and hills.

Any one agree?

A good idea, but it could just complicate things.

How much dirt is there in a hole with the following dimensions: 6x4x3?
Answer: NONE.

A good question, but think about how Maxis has implemented features in the past. After some consideration though, I think I should've voted differently.

Interesting idea, but a nice thing about the current system is it's very easy to edit the overall result by just tweaking the pieces you laid out. With a paint brush tool, you'd only have the undo command to explore minor changes. I like the system as it is.

What I thought was meant by the title was the ability to have paint schemes applied to small sections of the terrain. That'd be kind of cool, though complicated.

The paintbrush should also apply to coloration on the planet, but nothing to unnatural, 'cause then everyone could be like a planet artist.

If this were something recently discovered and published in an obscure field-specific research journal, then fine. But SPORE. It significantly takes more keystrokes and time to complain about not knowing something than it does to actually look it up.

Hmm.....from my experience with past editors and GA a paint brush tool WILL be rather useful....but as GoodGame said editing is harder and overall it is more complicated. I'm not sure, but I tentatively voted "Yes", just because I ran into many situations where a paint brush would have been nice.

If you've ever played Microsoft's game, Zoo Tycoon 2, then you'll know that to change the terrain type, or the water, you use a 'brush'.
Same with mountains and stuff.
I prefer this over the stamps, as it gives us the chance to be more creative, and it's easier to work with, instead of placing individual stamps.

I want it. Desperately.
And the ability to paint water on? Yes please. I struggle to make lakes and stuff, without connecting it to the ocean, because of the stupid stamps.
Let us paint water, the terrain colour and of course, mountains, trenches, valleys, etc.

I could not tell you for sure but I think they use stamps to keep download size small for our maps. Though this is a creative game everything is taylored to keeping the resulting downloads very small. So the only data that is that is ever needed by the users of our creations is the information for size and placement of spore content, content wich all spore users already have on their hard drives.
I posted this a while back http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/31443.pagebut is received little interest. However a prefabs tab would save creators alot of laborious repetative work and would work well for the terrain editor also I think IE. one could create a long river with a lake at the end then group the parts and save them to the prefabs and then when they need it again just pull the grouped parts out and plop them on the planet.
All game editors that and 3d creation suites that I have ever used have this ability to create something once and then have it at your instant disposal afterward.

We love the idea, but we won't hang around this thread for all eternity. Don't expect us to.
We answer, then we go.
