Well HERE's my problem! EADM was out of date. *Updates* And now... it is corrupt.

I'll get back to you after I get it reinstalled.

i did it! i finally got spore bot parts! for all of u who r begging to kno how i got this is heres how i got it:

first if u go to dr pepper and redeam ur parts then it will bring u to a page where it gives a link to where u download it so it brings u to ur page and says u hav spore bot parts if nothin pops up no worries i kno wat u hav to do! (if it shows u dont hav the parts stop reading cuz this aint gonna help u if it says u dont have it) tht page all of u were afraid of going on the third party site) just dowload that and this time since it says u hav the parts it will share the creatures!!!!!! so go download it at: http://www.simprograms.com/dr-peppereas-spore-1-06-patch-and-14-mech-parts-download ( but make sure ur page says u hav the bot parts cuz if u don't the creatures with the parts on it wont share)

i hope this helps a ton of pplz

There are instructions on the first post, it's the first entry. You need to have EADM running if it doesn't pop up on its own, and log in with the same email you used on the dr. pepper's site (that must be your spore email, obviously).

Yes, other players have tried it with success, of course Maxis/EA can't endorse this.
Can you try getting to the download page again and trying to download them again as in the first post anyway?

Yeah, I am. The user name and password is the same--although I did change my password beforehand to be the same as my Dr.Pepper and Spore account. I changed it because I forgot it, and I hope that didn't mess it up. I don't remember them saying log into EA with your Dr.Pepper account though. Also, I still haven't received a reply from EA yet, though. I asked them why it won't let me activate Spore on the EADM, even though (despite what the message says) it IS a Digital Download Game. I didn't think of this until last weekend, but I thought that maybe the download won't work because Spore isn't "activated" with the EADM. When I read it "lets you download your game should you lose it and download 'some bonus content from the game company'", I figured that and the talk about "Do you see it (the download) in the Spore section of your EADM?" meant another possible solution.

By default, a spore disc does not grant you rights for a digital download. You need to contact support and see if they give you rights. You won't get a response in the weekend. I don't think it has to do with your problem.

So activating my game with the EADM isn't going to help me? Aww.... I wanted to use the bots parts in my submission for the pi day contest. Well, at least they're working on a solution to my problem. Oh, and thanks for trying to get this working for me!

Probably You have wrong version EADM...

I was able to install the parts using a reusable code. But I unfortunately installed them before installing Galactic Adventures, so I had to do a complete reinstall of Spore. Then, I installed GA. Then I installed Creepy and Cute. But I didn't reinstall the Bot Parts patch because I'm too scared of the possibility of messing up the game again. The other reason I'm scared is because if it goes wrong, my little brother will kill me since we share spore.

So I have 3 options if I want to get the bot parts back:
1. Wait until Maxis releases the patch (not likely)
2. Open up EADM and click the start download button to re-download it
3. I do what it says in the quoted text, download the one from www.simprograms.com because it already says on my profile that I have the parts.

Which of the 3 is least risky (and doesn't take a year to do)?

Or I don't reinstall it at all. Are there any risks if I try to reinstall the bot parts? Remember: I have Spore, GA, and C&C installed if that info helps.

Why not try 2? If you already have patch 5.1 already installed, nothing bad should happen.

just remember that the updating content database process may take a while.

That is normal. The spore icon on the pop up that will usually spin will not during this procedure so while it may look frozen, it's not. It might last for more than an hour, and it is highly recommended that you turn off all user-ran background processes before starting Spore/GA after patching. For troubleshooting crashes during it see this post

Whoa, that was quick. Ok, I'll try number 2 and save 3 as a last resort. And yes, I do have the latest version of Spore, I made sure to update after reinstalling. I'll back up my saves to be safe. But how do I back up my captains and GA data?

If you back up the aforementioned files they will all be kept.
