Know how your radar will help you when you have an eco disaster going on? Well, I've got this type of disaster I'm trying to deal with on one planet (that belongs to an ally) and there is also a rare item on that planet - the radar only zeros in on the rare item - I tried taking it just so I could get the sick animals and was instantly attacked and lost my ally (quit that game without saving - it's still early in the space stage for me) - is there any way to get around this? I've tried highlighting the little circle for the animal but it just brings me to differnt groups of those animals - not the sick ones - I'm down to only two animals left that haven't died out and am going crazy trying to find the sick ones w/o radar - anyone have any hints on how to get around this? thanks!

You could destroy the rare with a weapon.

what i would do (this requires money) is give the empire $10000 as a gift so they like you more and then take the item and continue with the mission.

Hijack the item, leave the atmosphere, go back down, no rare, ally is not shooting you, finsih objective. Easy.

you can't give money during a eco-disaster, and they start shooting even with a bribe
