Welp, here we are, the end. Likely wasn't the first, but it won't be the last. I had a great time here, regardless of how much actual time that was. Either way, the time this thread did receive definitely wasn't in vain, as a whole lot of creations, ideas, and bettered people came out of it. While I don't know where everyone's heading (metaphorically), I know we gotta sail ahead, to whatever that may be.

Hi folks: important announcement for you!

With a slightly different approach and some great new team members the Sporenaissance is back in business. The reason for this revival is that some of our folks returned to the editors or did not manage completely to leave the game (ugh, ugh) and for one very big reason: we still love this game!

Like before, you are very welcome to show your creations but please, when doing so, also DO comment on the work of folks who posted before you! This will help us and your fellow Spore player to keep this topic alive. Also, there will be no daily features anymore. Even though this absolutely was the most successful part of the Sporenaissance thread, it also was the part with the highest working pressure and at the end, a big reason to stop with the topic some months ago. The remaining members that time were worn out. However, we are full of energy again and we would like to give a warm welcome to the following new Sporenaissance members:

Quite Frankly, neither did I. The few of the original participants who were still active, myself included, thought we would be leaving Spore for other creative outlets. However, as Ansje already mentioned, we found we really love this game and the friends we have here. With the new additions to our core team we are ready to roll again. No doubt we will come up with some special events / activities. Nonetheless, it's really up to all the participants, including occasional visitors to make this a fun & successful endeavor. Ansje already mentioned posting your own creations and commenting on those previously posted. I'll add to that 'informal features'. i.e do YOU have a creation / creator that inspired you or got your attention. Post it & give them a 'shoutout' here. Also, please let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions to improve the thread.

Hello, all. First, I want to say that I'm excited to see the Sporennaisance back in business, amd also to see Ansje's comeback. I would like to say thank you all for accepting MadEye, Sal, Lord_Srit and I to the team. We're all glad to help with bringing back this reincarnating community.

Also, LoneStar, very nice work with your spaceship, I like the detailing a lot.

Back from the past: DNA challenge!

First of all: this is NO contest: it is a fun challenge with no prizes, no deadline and no entry limit. All credits for the DNA challenge go to the dutch guy DekDeS, who hosted this challenge each week for a long time in the past, both on a dutch forum and the international/american Sporum. The rules are very simple: you are invited to create a creature out of the given parts, nothing else. Should there be Exo-skeleton parts or Cute & Creepy parts in the assignment, then an alternative will be given, but only for the folks who do not have these parts. Also, DekDeS hosted this challenge each week, we will not do that on this forum. For the time being, we will host it bi-weekly and only if there are no other contests hosted on this topic. Originally this challenge was creature version only, but the folks who love the outfitter are very welcome to enter an outfitted version of their creature as well, but please show both creations, so one with and one without outfitting.

A bit extra explanation for this challenge: you must use THREE legs (not three pairs, but three in total). You can choose yourself which legs, can be different, and you can decide yourself how you would like to use them. You could use one of them as a tail or a neck, whatever. I will show my own test creature later, in one or two weeks.

It really is an awesome game and like others, I haven't found a game like this, which is the reason I'm still active and creating.

I will be online and loading the game to look up all new creations later today, as I just came back from my best friends wedding and I'm still tired.
