Grin-and-bear it; or delete Spore, reinstall, and don't patch.

Note however that reinstalling will use up one of your limited number of installs.

So I bought the CC parts pack and it needs to patch the game before it'll install. My problem is that when the patch tries to install it gets most of the way through and then tells me I need more HD space. I have 3.19GB free. Could someone tell me how big the patch actually is so I know how much to delete? And is the patch seriously bigger than that? Because that's ridiculous, utterly ridiculous.
Anyway, thanks for the help I may get.

Apparently patch 2 wants at least 5 gigs of free space and patch 3 wants 6 gigs. If you only have 3 or so gigs free, you'll need to free up some space. I have no idea why it needs such a large amount of space but it appears that it'll refuse to run without it.

To answer both of your hard drive space issues. First of all, when you own a computer, you should always leave 10% of free space on the hard drive, going to the make can cause problems. Not to mention that you're computer needs that free space to write off data from the RAM to free up space. Going to the edge of your hard disc can have very bad consequences.

So, if you can, add another Hard-drive into computer, Burn-off some data to DVD-R's, like music and movies that you may have acquired, as well as uninstall old programs and games.
