Hi all,

I have found out how to install patch the last thread was getting too big so i'm posting a new thread.

first you have to run the patch and let it fail with the error about the old file missing or not the same.

When this runs it will nback the installer int a temp directory such as

C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{9DF0196F-B6B8-4C3A-8790-DE42AA530101}\1.01.0000
this is on vista x64 it may be different directory for everyones pc and operating system

Go to this directory and open "setup.ini"

Down the very bottom of that page u will see

RequireExactLangMatch=0x0804,0x0404

DELETE THIS

Also change the line CheckMD5=n

Save this file and then run the setup file in this same directory game will now install and runs perfectly for me.

Yeah, I'm nervy like that XD

unfortunately i only worked out how to install patch not fix the thousand bugs it has...


but i just played for 2 hrs now and it hasn't crash so it's fixed all my issues

only issue i had wasa a random screen flickering crach as if the refresh rate went bonkers

and it hasn't happend usually does after about 40 mins or so

Sounds to me like the game is downloading the wrong language patches to people if that works. That, or they made one patch and marked it English or US or whatever and the games people have from other countries complain because of it.

i got aus i guess those codes refer to a config file or data file which changes on certain pc's

unfortunately that link is for if you have uninstalled after patching and reinstalled and not applied the patch and spore now crashes dont use that link if youare trying to install patch



Try Seaching for the directory 1.01.0000 i know it places it on a different directory in xp so it may be inanother location i do not have xp so i can't find out for you

i'm not sure why ppl are having issues with patch but it works great for me now i used to have crashes i guess they fixed the crashes ppl were having before a crashed the problems ppl weren't having before hahaha

Spore patch sucks
I want to use the cute and creepy it demands that I upgrade with the patch
and then it demands outragous amount of memory for it. And the spore website offers no help...
so now I am done venting....does anyone know of any info from EA or Spore about this problem??
