Patch 1.04 crashes my game- possibly a runtime error

I just downloaded the newest patch, and now my game crashes everytime I start it.

no error codes. Just windows vista saying a problem caused spore to malfunction.

I've got the same problem, but I've got XP, and it crashes when I start a certain planet.

I got Vista and the post-patched game never boots, crashes before launch.

same here, and It seems like I've got all the latest drivers too.

Someone at EA made a big mistake, they've just disabled the game for a bunch of us....

I paid for GA, and if my game no longer boots, then I want a refund for GA that I will never be able to play even once.

Hint hint.

Issue another patch that fixes this, now, please?

I just checked the exception report. I looks like a memory access fault. May be trying to access the wrong block or a typo or something. I dunno.

I've made stupid coding mistakes too. Hopefully that's all it is. And hopefully it gets fixed soon cause it's the executable.

i'm just getting a "the application is telling runtime to terminate in an unusual way bla bla bla" error

could someone from maxis or EA respond to this?

well, I ran a diagnostic to check if my drivers were up to date, and I couldn't get it working. But directX iagnostics state that my drivers are all up to date, so I don't see a reason why my game keeps crashing when I start it

or we can try to keep posts relevant to the topic so a sporemaster doesn't come here and locks this up before we get an explanation,

The new patch killed my game, won't boot up, "run time errors"

I'm back in. It looks like they changed the previews. The buildings look great now in the previews and so do the vehicles! I didn't think they were gonna fix the vehicle graphics.

Anyway, is anyone else's working? I had to do a little trick to get back in.
