1. There are many communications you can ignore without dire consequencies, if it is more important to you that you complete any current goal(s). This often results in better time management and faster progression than running off to each request for help.

2. If you're at war, it is very difficult to win defensively. Offensively capturing your enemies planets will at minimum push back your border, particularly if empty space is left in between. Occasionally this will allow you to capture enemy planets, increasing your spice production and giving you a place to repair. And sometimes a defeated enemy will move from "at war" to just "unhappy" with you because he's learned his lesson.

**To quickly find a creature on a planet, mouse over the dots in the terraform map until you find the creature you want. Click on its dot and when it turns full yellow, it activates your homing beacon on your ship. ( i just figured this out last night!)

Also if you create an Epic creature on your planets, be careful because the little turds will shoot fire at anything that comes near them - this includes your ship & allies AND your colonies. If your colony has no turrets the epic creature will keep attacking it.

Before meeting th Grox make sure you have maximum health, and all weapons fully upgraded. Also all their planets are T0.If you make it a T1 planet all the Grox there will die,why I don't know but they do.

I find what has appeared in the RP forum frightening. Please tell me the other veterans are still here.

Unlike other alien ships that can be easily destroyed by proton missiles, Grox ships are particularly vulnerable to pulse weapons. Just one or two direct hits with a mega pulse can kill most Grox ships, except those larger boss ships.

Also, shields work well when you are surrounded by a swarm of Grox. They can't hit you (or hardly at all), and you can just blast them all one by one with your pulse until the shield powers down. But take health packs just in case.

My converstation with my homeworld:
"Hello space command."
"Yes?"
"I think maybe you should start employing some more captains now that I have expanded our empire to 100 star systems."
"Ahahahah. You're kidding, right? We will build only one ship to defend our people at a time. That is all. You fail."
"Doesn't matter that you can clone me and build a new ship in a matter of seconds?"
"No! Now go away!" *Click*
"Well fine. I'll go back micromanaging my colonies. And see if I don't!"

Flying in circles can help keep enemy ships in range of your torpedos while still keeping you out of range of their lasers.

Once a bomber has been stripped of its escort fighters don't bother with torps on it. It's a lot faster to pull up alongside and burn it with your laser, and it can't really do anything to stop you.

When doing the colonizing "quests" when you just start space, 1.) do it to the point of getting the flora and fauna samples and the drought generator.

2.) Buy a colony pack from an ally for 97k (depends on alien specialty but it shouldn't be too hard to find one).

3.) Look for a GOOD planet (anything but red and yellow)

Now you have a free 150k item to upgrade a good planet, instead of the stupid red spice planet the tutorial suggests, and you can have enough money to buy whatever style game play you want. You may have to do missions to pay for buildings, but I usually find artifacts and sell them along the way.

When bombing cities that are armed with turrets, zoom in and out as you bomb them. Their lasers may still hit you but their rockets and ships won't hit you as much

ENTIRELY QFT!! Glitches in space stage for many players have been reported numerous times. Also, space stage can have numerous 'swings'. That is; decisions made and play-styles adapted or tested can have extreme consequence. When unsure of a decision, save first, make your choice, see if it pans out. If you don't particularly care for how your game has been altered (Grox comes to mind) simply revert to your most recent save. SAVE OFTEN and have fun!

OMg lucas I love you.

Make friends with other allien races by fixing their planets , bring enough plants and animals because if the Tier of the planet drops they will see it as you hurting their planet , so its important that you bring it up but don't let it fall back down of the T you got it to , do this right and you can get 100+ with that civ quickly and cheap.

To keep the T rating from droping you have to drop a plant of each type (medium ,small and large) and 3 different type of animals NOT ALREADY LIVING ON THE PLANET , make sure you drop the plants first , then the herb eaters and last the carnivores or the carnivores will die almost instantly.

When going to meet with the Grox quest turn off your auto turret and stop when surrounded by them , introduce yourself and give them 100k , this should keep them out of war with you and still be able to conclude the mission.

If you get contacted by an agressive race for no reason and they already don't like you much (neutral or dislike) don't pick up the call and they will get a lot less mad , if you do pick up select "funds unavailable " instead of "ignore demands" and it will get thema lot less mad.

When navigating trough the stars always stop when contacted by the native aliens and introduce yourself , it prevents unecesary missunderstandings.

Try to keep at least one warlike friend around happy because they sell the cheapest weapons , but try to get rid of all the other warlike races in your vecinity because they are high maitenance and have to keep doing different froms of diplomacy to keep them happy.

Try not to take on too many allies , they will be bugging you for eco disasters and when they attack eacher other you are forced to take a side or face discontent on both sides , 1 or 2 allies tops is enough , just keep the rest happy .

Alternatively, get 20 alliances and plop down an embassy on everyone's homeworld. Low-maintenance diplomacy, for those long treks across the galaxy.
