What is the Post Videos of Your Galactic Adventures Missions thread about?

This is a page designed to show off video of Galactic Adventures missions and ideas. I would like this to become a sort of advertisement video collection for adventures, where users can see some of the missions in video form, find a mission that suits their play style, and then click a url to download that mission from the sporepedia.

I will also be posting my top five favorite adventure missions each month (hoping to get this up and running again soon, but my computer has been running slow lately, still updating the Sporecast, but no more videos for a while).

If anyone has a problem with how I represented their adventure or does not want video of their adventure posted, leave a message here or send a private message or post a message on one of my creations in Spore. Otherwise, I really liked those five adventures, they were the best I played that month, and that's why I added them to the sporecast.

So please, if you have a mission ready, make a video of the mission and post it here in this forum thread, along with a link to the adventure, so people can download it.

I have one. It's the teaser trailer for my upcoming machinima project: Secon City.
All the footage was taken from the civilization stage.

That is awesome. That's definitely the kind of video that catches someones attention, and kind of what I'm looking for in the videos.

What I'm looking for is basically a tease or preview of the mission in video form, just like that. Once Galactic Adventures is released, the videos will probably be easier to make too.

Just to let you know, that is a teaser trailer for a machinima that I plan on making. A machinima is a movie made using the graphics engine of a video game. So I am planning on making a feature length film using galactic adventures.

have spoof vidoes. that would be funny.

That's cool, I know what a machinama is.

But still, it's a good preview, and for now, that's kind of the best anybody can do for a preview video creation, for a mission or otherwise. But once the game is released, we can just record video of the gameplay and post that here as a quick preview. I think this is the best way to promote a mission on the forum, as of now.

Tinypic supports video uploading without getting browser bars or accounts or all the crap other sites make you do. It's really slow, though.
Edit: Of course. It can take video directly captured in Spore, but it won't take Windows MovieMaker files. Also, videos can't be longer than 5 minutes. Just make a youtube account.

Edit II: After twenty minutes, my GA mock-up finished uploading. Sorry for the lack of edited-in dialogue.
Dialogue:
Next to elephant: "Save our town! There's a giant monster attacking!"
Camera shows a white creature for a moment (first pass near monster): "Help!! It's eating me!"
Walking toward monster (second pass): "Die!"
Turns around, falling towards monster: "Uh-oh"

Cool video. For me, I just take some video of Spore, cut it together with Windows Movie Maker, and then put it on YouTube. It's simple and easy to do, at least for me.

this is such an awesome thread idea...this way there wont be hundreds of "my adventure teasers". in fact this should get a sticky

Maxis, this should be a sticky...cause if it isn't you will have about fifty threads about "a trailer to my GA mission" instead of having a nice thread like this where everyone will post

I'm hoping it gets stickied too, I kind of thought it was a good idea.

The basic idea I had was a place to show off some game play video or preview of an adventure, so that you know what you're getting when you play it. If the mission looks like it doesn't fit your style you avoid it. But if you watch the preview video, and the mission looks and sounds cool, you can just click a link to go to the location in the Sporepedia to download that mission.

Without a preview video, most likely featured missions and popular creators will get the most mission downloads. I think this could help unknown creators since this is the best way for some one to get a quick view of your mission, and decide whether they should download it. Otherwise, people would miss their good mission ideas, since they only see the featured content or subscriber content.

I also saw some saying they don't know the best way to upload a video. YouTube accounts are easy to use. To post a video here on this thread, you get the url that's found above the youtube page for the video (the box above where you type in www), then you copy that and paste it here. Highlight the whole pasted url, and look at the area that says message body above your reply. If you continue to the right of that area, you should eventually see a button that says Youtube. Click that, and you're done.

Others said they use Windows Movie Maker. I use that too. I don't want to fully explain it, but Youtube is the easiest way to share a video from that program, just publish the project, and upload it to a youtube account.

So Maxis, if you're there, please consider looking at this thread idea, a place to show off user created videos of Galactic Adventures Missions, and possibly consider giving it a sticky.
