Very nice new sig. And about the troodont, we probably won't get to see it unless the adventure is locked at night, will we? Or will it be resting in some obscure corner, kind of like an easter egg? Anyway we are in need of some small pterodactyloids and birds, so I think I'll start on a pterosaur next.

EDIT: Apparently only azhdarchids made it to the very late Cretaceous that we know of. Maybe I'll try making Struthiomimus?

EDIT:
I like how the pelt turned out, with the bald tail and head and all.

I'd really like to see a WIP published when you get the terraforming done.

well here's a baby triceratops

and I'm thinking of redoing the river because it would be hard for a caption without jump to get out.

@ tk: I totally dig the new sig. What was the pic taken in? Rendering looks better than a lot of what I have seen out of Spore.

@ dinolizard: Maybe lock the captain as a creature from the environment that has the ability to jump?

Ok folks, I have a question. What the heck is THIS THING doing in my Sporepedia?

Better yet, why is it making its way into the Sporepedias of OTHER people?!

Oh, egads! Look at that! My sig changed! Wait a second, some of those creatures look totally new! What the--

Good golly, I have no clue what's happening right now! What does this mean?! I'm so confused.....

All I did was take a picture of it in the creature creator and then in GIMP I adjusted the levels, which is what made it turn out looking so much better than what Spore can do. Nothing fancy done to it at all.

I just made my first realistic dinosaur in over two years! How do you guys think it turned out? I'm a little skeptical.

Very cool raptor. There are some inaccuracies with proportions and the hands, but it's overall a good creation.

Thank you. I'm always feeling skecthy around limb design. I'll research some other creations and try again later.

Using references is also a good way to make creations realistic. Wikipedia articles usually have accurate representations of dinosaurs.

The main thing I notice, like Triop, is the hands. The palms on hand of dinosaurs always face inward, like they're about to clap, due to their wrists being fairly locked in that position.

And yes, reference images are your friends. I pretty much always use a picture to base mine off of.

Just got back from being in Chicago for the past few days. I visited the Field Museum two days ago; they had a nice exhibition on unusual mammals. I also visited a rock shop in the suburbs, where I managed to acquire a fern and a worm fossil from Mazon Creek, amongst other things.

Nice, the Field Museum has lots of fun fossils. I recently bought a (tiny shard of) Allosaurus bone at a rock shop.
