Ok, so now you can predict the future. Which achievement did you unlock to be able to do that?
Also, you seem to be trying to tell everyone that we're not allowed to like anything included in patches unless it pertains to your own complaints or the complaints of certain other people on this forum.

By any chance, does any one have a screenshot of one of these cube planets? (forgive me if one was posted and I missed it)

Well, if I can predict the future, apparently you are a mindreader, so stealthfully divulging my true intent to make everything gray! Curse you, Rainbow Brite!
Seriously, if EA thinks all people care about is appearance, what are they likely, given their previous track record with the Sims 2, to focus on?
If you like the current gameplay, fine. I've got as much of a right to lament the current situation as you have to love it. I see this as a focus on appearance only, and the parts pack as further evidence of the same.

What do you see the space expansion pack as? Or does that not exist in your world of terrible, terrible things?

I'm going to wait on that. If it is what I fear, it will be adding your own flavor text to the same gopher missions and eradicate creature missions.
If it is what I hope, you can reward people with actual ship tools, cargo, and whatnot for missions completed, can give missions that have several options other than linear ones, give missions that are part of a long sequence that encourage you to set up and explore a region of space and interact more deeply with a species.
My ultimate fantasy is something like scripting interaction like in Star Control 2. If you haven't seen it, pick it up. And study up on Frungy.

I actually believe that odd and interesting formations like unusually shaped planets, add a little more value to the game.
Also, there are extremely large stars that have pink and purple tints due to their fuel consumption. I wouldn't mind seeing them.

Basically what you're trying to say is that you don't like the gameplay as it currently is, and that you hoped that the patch would transform this game into the 'science spore' you hoped it to be.
And just because the patch didn't do this, the addition of cube planets is lame.
Hold on, what does the gameplay have to do with the shape of the planets in the game?

I'm going to make the first cube planet into a proper D6. That'll be scientific.

I'm tired of people trying to twist my words into something they want to argue with rather than what I'm saying.
The cube planets will be fun to look at. That's it. They won't have interesting physics, like if you were a creature on one you couldn't climb up one of the corners and glide down as if it were actually the mountain it would be.
They are more window dressing, and it is frustrating that window dressing is being given a front-seat while interesting gameplay or new gameplay is stuffed in the trunk.
And they are more evidence that EA thinks it is "done" with Spore. Add more parts, more editors, milk milk milk. No, sorry, can't spare time on making any of the phases more than a flash mini-game.
If flash mini-games are your speed, fine. Color me ticked off for paying eighty dollars for a whopping five-pack of banner-ad "punch the monkey" games.

Sure.
I'm sorry, that was supposed to be pointed, or funny? I really wish we had more variety to the emoticons.
In the interest of full disclosure, I used to be one of the biggest proponents of Spore, and even remained so up until the patch broke my installation. Then the gameplay showed itself to be the same thing on every difficulty setting, and then I found out there was no real challenge to get the "slugger" badge.

I'm not twisting your words and you avoided the question
You started to talk about gameplay all of a sudden which has nothing with shaped planets.
I see yet another post with a lot of words but a lack of relevance to the topic.
It's just a free addition.
You make no sense at all,
first you start complaining about the developers taking a step towards the cute style (your candy store world)
then you state that you don't care about the style, but only the gameplay, which has no relevance to the shape of the world.
Through all the posts you made in this topic you haven't come up with a single clear argument against the cube-planets.

you know I yet to find any cubes, I hoping there not to hard to find in or old saved games..... have any of you seen one yet?
now moving on to if I like it or not I have to say Yes I do it gives the game a more Sci-Fi or comics, and for me I see noting wrong with that, and any how with a universe the size are is, is anything posble, and is imposable something sine say's don’t exists

look I don't expect the gameplay to improve much if at all until the expansion. But at least it's something new to look at that they don't expect me to pay extra for
