EA May Eventually Allow Spore Players To Make Their Own Parts

See thats all I wanted to know really.

Now all we need to know is how expensive it will be.

So, the lesson there is: when faced with a really hard technical problem, just punt it to the players and they'll do a better job than you could have anyway!

"So the lesson here is, if you ever can't figure something out, just release it half assed, and hope the players fix it for you. Hey, works for other games, right?"

The parts look very interesting but it is definitely not worth $20. I would most likely pay $10 but nothing higher then that. I especially think this one should be lower since there have been so many bugs in the past.

What kind of game breaking bugs will they introduce?

This pack really should be released on or before halloween.

And custom-made parts sounds promising, if it ever happens. I probably wouldn't be able to make any myself, but it'd be interesting to see what the userbase comes up with.

Fat chance of that. Allowing people to make custom parts would interfere with EA's bottom line and make it harder to milk people for stupid part packs.

What worries me about this is that many people out there will actually pay for the parts pack! They (EA) aren't worried about the negative perception because they know that for every person who is smart enough to see through their greedy business practices, there will be at least ten that won't, so they can afford to lose one out of eleven possible customers to the "tragic" effects of common sense (It's a rare condition these days, and they're hoping to wipe it out completely within a year).

I think Lucy is plugged in to what we want. I have faith when she starts talking about giving us deeper gameplay and more things to do with our creations.

The fact that she said "deeper gameplay" several times in the interview means that they get it.
