Really? I've heard bad things. I was tempted to get it, but every review I read said it paled in comparison to the PC version by a huge margin, and even compared to other DS games was extremely simplistic and linear.

If you have any sort of 'illegitimate DS gameplaying' options I suggest trying it and if you like it get it.

Parts actually stack.
Your creature actually 'does' act a 'little' different depending on where the part is attached.
Sure it is linear but that is because it is story driven.
DS games are SUPPOSED to be minigames (unless stated otherwise) that's the entire idea of portable games, quick fun while on the road (hopefully not driving). It feels like what it was marketed as, more than I can say for its pop).

If people say it pales in comparison to a version of it placed on a system that is thousands of times more powerful, you need to take that with a grain of salt .

Just wait till it is 15 bucks and grab it, be the best 15 bucks you've spent that week I'll imagine.

I imagine the one stars is probably the other person who hit 1000000+ users. Someone in denial that hates me ;p.

Or it's MaxisCactus, since I did say some harsh things to him in response to his email to me. (The previous line as a joke people, I doubt it was MaxisCactus).

I like both systems . I've gotten what I expected from both.

Although I do have to admit i'm getting pissed with Nintendo's new "There should be no game overs or losers in any gaming situation." attitude.

Seriously...adding TRIPPING to Smash Bros...wtf...

or that goddamn Blue shell in Mario Kart.

Since when was it OK to punish people for working hard and being good at what they do? I thought the whole point of being good at something was that you'd be praised and supported then people who lie and make crappy products can be bashed to hell.

The world is inverting on itself like something from Shin Megami Tensei.

ill confirm the quit playing data...havent played nearly at all for a month...i was rather upset with it...prior to spore i owned simcity societies...and if anyone played that it was the same story...not enough patches and answers came quick enough and the game had a lot of hype...but once they made the initial sale and had their money i felt like i was forgotten about...i'm excited about the multiple accounts fix and i really wish maxis would be better about giving me the game i fell in love with at e3 this game should trump the sims...guess ill keep checking back for that white whale of a patch...

I sometimes wonder if people take the obvious impossibilities in polls and select them for the sake of a laugh?

Because all the evidence I've seen shows that not all the people owning spore are still playing. Yet 5 people have clicked 1 million+.

Guess I can't get too uppity, it is an opinion pole .

Yea, thats something that bugs the hell out of me.

There is no game over.

You would think, they would have learned that people like the idea of winning by now.

And no, personally I couldn't get myself to click again.
Sorry, nothing personal, its just that polls are so flawed by nature.
And there have been a lot the past weeks

Well it is fun to have tons of HP and getting the ocasional bang.

But there are others way to have satisfiing victories.

Then again, the game doesn't punish you to try and test the limits. I geuss thats a benefit ,I geuss. *shrug*

yea i dont hate the sandbox feel of games like spore, for instance, although i would like to feel challenged on occassion or at least have to worry about downloading a really good players creations...for instance if a player played really aggressively i was under the impression that i would have to fear for my creations existence...but nooooo these games have to be able to be somewhat fun for 5 year olds too...

they really should just have like a competency test before you play a game...if you suck at games and life in general they should dumb down the game for you...but if you actually want a challenge id expect to have the game rip me a new one.

*raises fist*

Of course I play.
Don't be silly, I may be harsh on Spore.
But only because I love it so much.
It has given me the greatest dreams for 3 years.

I just have a couple of new ones, check it out

I see my star monster is back, where were you, 's been like 2 days .

I'm most amazed by so many people think less than 50,000 still play Spore... that would mean that if six million creations are made every week, that each user has been making more than 100 creations a week on average... now that's ridiculous!

I think there are a lot more people still playing spore. You can't base the numbers solely on uploaded content. Like someone said above you don't make anything more once you are in space. I currently have 5 games in the space stage at the moment and I move between them constantly. So for all the time I'm playing I'm not creating new creatures but I'm still playing. Just like you can't solely base the numbers seen in XFire. The only ones that can give us solid numbers are Maxis themselves.

Everything else is speculation at most.

im sure there is about 500 000 because about 20-50 % may be people playing offline. And theres people using same creations like me (i just create space ships and those because i just dont want to play whole game from cell stage again and creature i use looks so überbcool)
and most of people like me may trun off Xfire before playin (i dont want lag to a game which takes already very much from my processor)
