The galactic core, shrouded in mystery. No one knows what is in that place, though Spode will tell us if necessary. That is why we don't actively try to destroy the evil, well we do not refer to them as a race for they were not created by our lord, Spode! We believe the core is filled with power; fire, huge spectacular displays of divine materials we have never seen and likely will never see in our lifetime and, most importantly, the chance to obtain what every being in the universe desires most. Enlightenment. The purpose behind life, if we get to the core, we will surely be worthy of that gift from Spode, although it is Spode's choice for our lives.

Book 4- a quote from the followers of the false god.

And here's a passage
The cult of the followers have been with us from the Dawn of our time. They take their form in a hundred ways yet always try to destroy us and others who join us. They live in our cities and perform dark rituals under our noses. They sacrifice our missionaries and scatter their blood across the galaxy. The followers are not open to us. They hide cowardly in the dark and refuse to communicate. Their false god is a being of pure evil. Similar to those who dismiss us but infinately different. A being with serpent hair and clothes of gore. He is seen in those dark places and freezing towers. We shall smite him and destroy his followers. For he is an idea, so he must be forgotten.

Life is a path, impossible to follow alone. We need Spode's help to get to the end, but some stray from the path of good and become evil. The followers of the false god that will come. Us faithful people know this is the wrong thing to do, it's like saying "Spode is not real, this other undecided thing made us!" That saddens us, knowing Spode's creatures turn away from the correct way. In fact, most of them already have...

Book 2-

"Spode knows of all actions, therefore if you brake a law of Spode, you are disgracing your god."

If life where not from our lord, Spode, then it would be far less divine, far less beautiful, far less joyus. We are our own proof of Spode. You need look no further then a mirror.

Grox book (6?)

The Grox are unnatural monsters that were not created by Spode! They anger us by breaking every single law of Spode, and they don't care! They are machines that keep the galactic core to themselves and never allow Spode's creatures to reach the enlightenment at the core, the pinnacle of existence, the goal for us all.

It is unknown what is at the core for unbelievers, but we understand Spode's word and some think they know that enlightenment lies at the core.
