Well there's Doom, and his mechs compare to anyone's, and his style is very much his own. And there are lots of others. Look on the Sporenaissance thread. There are amazing people on there -- as good as the people I've seen in the past -- and Didzo and Worldpiece-redux (sorry cant remember the name) are still creating, GrandPeep has never stopped creating, nor have kricky, Chamäleon, Ansje, antipyrene, and the incredible Wonny3SW.

There are superb creators out there. There are others you don't see because you have to catch them farther down the new releases and MPN food chain.

I could name a whole bunch more people who are fine creators and still active. I play occasionally again too, but my stuff is for a certain taste too.

MPN is Most Popular New creations. People who uprate the best creations that make it on the MPN. That's all it is.

EXACTLY! I don't like the drama, gets old FAST. So I don't listen to it.

I've been in the #1 slot on it with several of my creatures and some of my buildings, but after the 5th or 6th time I stopped watching. Its mostly fun for the people who don't really play, just enter contests and make creations that are meant to be looked like in the sporepedia. The ones that animate all crazy in the viewer LOL. Like their heads flip backwards all the time and parts fly off if you push the action buttons. Now that IS actually fun sometimes.

they were great but there creations are still there and we can take them apart and learn from them

Yeah, those creations are pretty good.

When Spore first started, there were many brilliant creators. Sadly, about 90% of them have left now. The only good ones I still see active are:

Parkaboy
Mushroomking1 (even thought he said he was "closing up shop", he came back after about 2 months.)
CPelite
Tylonians (although he doesn't create much anymore)
Hilight
T-ron134/Metamorphoid
Hydro-Glyph

There used to be so much more than that:

I don't know many of the "new" great creators from Spore's newer generation of players. (I'm an old Spore Veteran :lol

Shame. Spore started dying when my creations started to actually become decent.

Yeah but we can still keep spore going and just keep practicing with the editors and you will do great.

Making good creations really isn't that hard if you just take a-bit more time on the small details for what you are making. I personally take an hour to get the base creature and usually another 10 to 20 minutes outfitting it, but that is just my opinion on how you can be a better creator.

In point of fact, I play through the game to keep from creating too fast. I've made probably 1K+ now and most of them thought the game. I only very occasionally ever did contests. I wouldn't call myself "great" but when I bothered looking, most of my creatures made it into the top 20 on the MPN and quite a few of them to #1 even with Didzo, Foto, Himmel, KrakenMK and Ursidae creating. So not shabby, either.

Many of the people initially attracted to Spore were artists so the quality of creations was high, and back then the MPN was (mostly) a clean game, so it was more worthwhile looking at what passed through there. Now that it's totally political game run by about 4 horrid creators, you don't get a chance to see as much talent -- although much talent in spore was always obscure. If not for threads like Seravanth's features, and the Underrated thread(s) there wouldn't be nearly as many of the old ones who were known.

And GodIsCrying is an unusual case. He got subbed, but he must've sent out a thousand "Great creations! Come see mine and sub me!" comments every day. LOL Most people hate that! But he was still interesting enough to get subs.

Some of them are still working, and better than ever.

I think there ARE great creators out there, and lost of them.

Just most of them are not on the Sporum, and of the ones that are, most don't self promote (and are not Sporemasters or ex-Sporemasters), and the MPN isn't worth the time to look anymore -- unless you like hideous coloured flying wolves and drecky grox variants.

BabaJohn's VenusManTrap is a hoot, especially if you take the time to see it in the viewer and watch it animate.

xDoomsoulx, the best creator arround. He speciallizes in the most complex creations I have ever seen exist here. Seriously, check him out. He makes liches and things that are creepy like that.
