I don't want you to cite posts from people claiming they dislike the game or feel ripped off. I simply don't want to see people making the assumption that "a majority" hates the game. Too many posts open with "The majority of players feel ripped off" or "I know I hate this game and most people agree with me." Unless you have access to statistical data indicating this or some sort of poll that was filled out by all the people who bought the game, then one or two forums are a terrible representation of overall user satisfaction. However, neither of us has access to these sorts of things and so neither of us can state one way or the other who the actual majority is. Now, I am done. I don't want to argue with you because you seem like the sort to get very set in his ways and every time I attempt to refute things with these sort of people, I end up going nowhere.

you can google numerous places with online reviews and see his accusations are true. The majority of people do feel ripped off or wronged. You can even see evidence of this fact right here in these forums. the negative remarks far out weigh the positive. and of all the positives ones. It's just people like you repeating the same sarcastic remarks on multiple posts.

you can always tell when someone is just posting a comment to raise the little number for amount of posts next to thier name. Like they get some kind of prize or something.

@Halfbaked
I totally... disagree with you. It's not that hard to grasp that the only reason it looks like the "majority" is unhappy with the game is the fact that content people don't go to the forums to start new threads over and over and over and over and over about how they feel good with the game and satisfied. I'm one of these people, I like the game and I realise how it could have been much much more than it is.

But I will not start a thread "The game is decent" and I will not go looking for such threads to add a comment about how I feel. On the other hand - that's exactly what dissatisfied people do. Make new threads. A lot of them. Look out for other hate threads where they could say how DISGUSTED they are.

I will not disagree that there are lots and lots of people who don't like the game, hate it, feel cheated, robbed and whatever. And I will not dismiss their views nor will I say "shut up". But I can I will and I have the full right to express how bored and annoyed I am about seeing the same stuff said over and over. As if it could change anything.

Pointing out the bugs, thinking of additions to improove the game - that's cool and belongs here, in the Feedback forums and I enjoy reading it. But if someone only comes here to whine then well...

I can google how to make gas from water too, it PROVES absolutely nothing. Let me repeat again, it PROVES absolutely nothing. The "majority" of what? The majority of people that stole the game? The majority of people that bought the game? The majority of people that can't play the game? The majority of people that actually took the time to vote in an online poll? The majority of people that stand on their head and drink pepsi? Dude! C'mon already. Regardless of what you or I think, nobody knows. You can't use the word "majority" without first knowing the whole. Sure, lots of people, and I do mean lots and lots and lots of people might feel wronged and/or ripped off. The opposite could also be just as true. YOU don't know.

EDIT: D'oh, just saw you post AzruPL, you beat me to it!

I like spore. Never once do I claim that I don't. I came to these forums to try and figure out what the path for spore might be, mainly because it's unpolished. It has such great potential, and I believe it will only get better with time. Not everything is golden the minute it comes out, and quite frankly, spore could never live up to the hype people built up around it. That's not maxis's fault. In my opinion, what will make or break this game is to come in the next month or two, in how they update and deal with the requests people have made in these forums. THAT is why I am here, to observe it, contribute to it in a (hopefully) positive way, and generally if it bombs, make a decision on if I want to keep playing or if I have had my spore fix for a while. Even if I stop playing, I still consider spore to be a good game. But if it succeeds and manages to handle it's community well through communication and implementing the small feature requests of the players, then it might just hook me all that much more. I've already logged well over 100 hours on it. That's enough to tell me I got my money's worth.

Maxis is communicating. Don't expect EA too.

Yeah, well, they didn't make this message very obvious, did they. Like using sticky or something like that?
I would have been happy to have seen this message a few days earlier. It would have saved me from pumping up my blood pressure and writing all these snide comments about the devs and their agendas.

But then , they wrote it only yesterday... oh well.

Err it is stickied at the top of the forum page.....???

It seems like a majority of people feel ripped off because on an average dissatisfied people are the most vocal. There is not much reason for the average gamer that is enjoying the game to come to the forums or go to Amazon and indicate they are pleased with the game. Despite the DRM controversy Spore just hit 1 million copies sold. Even though all of you have been going on and on for the past few weeks there are people out there that are still buying and playing the game.

I wish people weren't having problems with the game. I wish there didn't seem to be technical problems but there are. No piece of computer software anywhere has absolutely no bugs in it, it's not possible. I wish that when they sent out the first patch that it fixed people's issues instead of creating new ones but that happens also. The patched helped some people and hindered some people. That is the nature of a computer program. I wish it wasn't but it is.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean they are wrong.

I think Spore is a great game. I hope that with future patches and expansions it will go from a great game to an awesome game.

I do wish that EA had not done this stupid DRM crap as it does nothing but hurt a fun game.
