Help with the Mech parts

Hells, I'll give out codes to anyone, as soon as they hit the shelves here. I only need one...

Unfortunately, although we have a bottler in town, they have not started distribution yet.

So, how do you get this Mech parts pack I never knew about...EVER! Until now of course...

BB, how many codes do you have? And what are the requirements to get one from you?

You need to uninstall Spore to uninstall the parts patch I'm afraid, I'm pretty sure I read that in the installation wizard. Pretty sure.

Well, it might be safe. But it still isn't legal.

I have no intentions to participate in the promotion, but neither will I do something like this. I'll either wait till there's an official way for me to acquire the mecha parts, or I will not bother with them at all. It's not like you can't create mechas with the creators as it is. Especially the Captain parts are great for mechas, only they will get very complex real quickly.

I agree with Rico, i wont get it until its an official patch, and until then, i all can do is hope for a mech parts patch

Legality aside, I would like to mention that the parts work with the Mac version as well.

You simply install the .package file that comes with the patch like any other mod and let the game update its content (which made it faster altogether for me BTW). Of course you still can't share your bots either.

But anyway, there is no excuse for not making an [official] Mac version of the patch. Making a proper "mod" like they did in the beginning would have been better.

The "patch 1.06" is not an EA/Maxis product. Please exercise caution and only download content from sources you trust.

If you install this patch, you will have an unsupported build of the game, which may mean you won't be able to get help from CS in the future.

This patch will allow you to play with the new parts in game, but you will not be able to publish them because it does not grant the entitlement necessary for publication.

With all due respect, ma'am, that's no great loss. The players have been supporting the game for the past year anyway.

Thanks MC. I just thought this would help the others that were so angry. She is right too. It does not let you share the creations. But I think its a great way to use the parts before the patch. This way you can see the parts in action and will be able try them out too.

I do appreciate the support players have given each other here.

Well for I feel bad for you folks at Maxis being stuck between a rather abrasive community and 2 corporate households that have you tethered down at both ends. Hope it all works out. It's a pity that people aren't patient enough to simply let the promotion run its course, first. When money is involved, it's clear what takes precendence...

@MaxisCactus not meaning to sound nooby but will this patch ever hit for the shops like creepy and cute and will it stay exclusive to the US

cos me and most of my mates in the UK would pay about £10 atleast to get parts like this

Well from what I heard I think there making a patch. Not a expansion. Either way That would be good!
