I'm patched.

I do have fewer issues than before - the patch was good - but I'm not issue free so I voted "have patch, still have issues."

Old computer though.

Before patch I was crashing once in a while in space (never crash on other phase but space)
It could be from zooming out from planet view or when I was bombing a city.

I've patched right away, even after hearing people complain about the patch issue. And since then, I have yet to crash once in space mode. Also made a few other game and still have'nt crash in any phase now.

This patch work like a charm for me.

They seem to have effectively min-maxed the stability with this patch. Some people run fine now where they didn't before, some people do nothing but crash when the game ran fine before.

I have to wonder what the heck is going on here, this is the messiest, most disorganized game launch I've ever seen firsthand; and the followup after launch has been equally grim to look upon.

Earn your salaries, folks. Show at least an average level of performance. With a game this big this cavalcade of problems with DRM, screen name "misprints", and serious/prolific bugs is like having your pants fall off on network television, my god the embarrassment.

haven't installed it yet due to all the negative feedback on the patch. Game works fine for me and I'm enjoying it overall.

Don't want to risk messing up my current game so I'll wait a bit until this patch goes final and out of beta(cause that's what it is, a beta patch.you can't make a patch like this in two weeks and have it tested sufficiently for a game of this scope in that kind of time frame).

I'm still having the problem of my game crashing after I defend my home planet and try to scroll back out to the universe view. It happened once before the patch but now it seems to happen every time. I've defended other planets that are not my homeworld and there is no problem. I can also visit my homeworld while there is no attack and scroll back out without any problems.

Since it has been like 5 days and they still havent acknowldged theres a problem if you have game press contacts, start using them, or just simply start sending links to this thread and the main patch thread to the main e-mails of the gaming sites.

I am not so much angry this happened as I am at their total failure to even acknowledge it.

Yeah, that's what has me more and more upset with each passing day. I worked for a major school administrative software company, and we released a few dud patches over the years. We always had an acknowledgment out within 24 hours, along with instructions for a rollback. We kept the customer apprised of the situation, and this often mitigated the negative effects of a failed release.

EA/Maxis has done none of this almost 5 days on from a patch that breaks the game for almost 40% of users.

Patch the patch!

After installing the patch, my game basically became unplayable. The creature stage was so riddled with glitches that i actually tried to get rid of the patch. Well, I found that somehow the files had become corrupted and I couldn't even uninstall it, so in the end I just reformatted my hard drive. (I had planned on doing this anyways)

I'm just waiting till the next patch, or till they fix this one.

Same here. I seem to be getting fewer crashes, however I wouldn't say "the game runs fine" by any means (although I've only played in the Space Age). But if I vote that it "has issues" then it looks like the patch has made things worse.

This is a bad poll.
