Ok, I just Failed the mission - and not because the timer elapsed.

This time it was an entirely new bug I encountered.

I used the same Captain I failed with on the first version so I could be sure the original issue had been fixed. The timers seem to be reasonable now (although you might want to fix that final 'Schematic's' Entry where it says you'll only have 2 minutes when you actually get 4.)

But this time I wasn't defeated by the Timers - it was the Craters.

They're brilliantly scenic - and they certainly help set the mood of the piece - but a hero without a jetpack or a high-level jump Can (and probably Will) get trapped down there and be unable to get out. Since those Craters cover the bredth of that area, they're impossible to avoid - and one single mis-step can bring down a whole level of hard work and exploration.

Besides the mobility bugs - the Story itself is quite excellent - I felt chilled when I read those last few journal entries, though a more dramatic "Running away" music would probably be more suited than the Angelic Choir.

So basically - if you can make a more reasonable path through the crater field for buck-knee'd heroes (who are many), then this mission will be Really quite excellent.

The right hand path is fairly flat. (of course only I would know that though ) I also got trapped in the craters during one trial run with that stupidly small slow jumpless maxis captain, but the only way to resolve it would have been to make the craters extremely shallow. There are a few paths through the crater field, but since the movement controls aren't very precise, I'd recommend sticking to the right

Perhaps you could make a more obvious path to the right.

Thing is, when you have a Timer, you'll want to take the most direct path to the objective - especially if your hero is a little slow.

The most direct path is through the crater field.

You could even just make a little easy-to-traverse path Through the craters without increasing their shallowness. That way, if they fall off the fair-enough path, they Deserve to get trapped.

I'll head over to the editor I suppose, and widen the path directly through. thanks for the input.

done, path has been widened, I won't ask you to play it again though, there's nothing important after the timer starts

There may be nothing important - but I'll be damned if I leave a quality mission un-finished.

Gurg-Bigfist doesn't leave till he gets the job done!

Whilst protecting an Atmospheric Harvesting fleet, an allied craft was obliterated by a single powerful shot from the surface of an un-charted world... Acting quickly - you beam down to the surface...

Another Still Life for you all to enjoy.

Excellent - make sure your hero is at least speed 2... I haven't play-tested below speed 2.

yeah, but giving him stealth, fly, strike, and 5 speed have made missions a lot easier for him (especially flying out of a maze )

Neither stealth or flight will help you in this mission. Trust me.

i have a mission that would be a still life mission but it needs some tiny invisble creatures to carry some stuff around and trigger traps. it still dosnt count as a turely still life mission even though the player never sees the creatures...to under stand what i'm talking about you may want to play it. this is the link http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=sast-500389008386

The Temple
The first mission I know of that used bolder traps and snake pits, and the only one for quite some time. (recently some other people used them)
