And another thing, everyone is acting like every EA/Maxis game's fixes are in the expantion packs, which is not true, just look at The Sims 2. And one last thing: for those of you who think they were lying about some of the features, they weren't. They had to take it out of the original game due to some perfectly reasonable explanation.

If people are upset, thats their decision, why are you judging based on that. The GAME is missing a lot of things that they could have put in. Its a good game, but its potential is not yet MERELY met!

I'm not judging people i'm speaking my mind.

I'm here to voice my opinion of the game, and since I can't return the bloody thing, TRY to find something amusing to do with it other than use it as a model editor without an export feature. The fact is, this game is not up to the quality we come to expect for games released after.... oh, 1998. I'm sure some people enjoy it, but I'm just finding a lack of interest and a whole lot of frustrating gameplay mechanics.

If they release a patch to fix all the bugs that they should have fixed before launch, I may be able to have some fun with it. As for the moment, I can't even use it for a coaster because I purchased the EADM version.

I agree with you! I was gonna play the game just a little bit ago and after sitting there staring at the title screen for about two minutes and I shut it down. I've had the game for a full week now and could go without playing it for the foreseeable future.

People have a right to voice their opinions on the game and this forum is a SPORE good place for it.

Voicing our opinion is well within the bounds. You know what? Many of us get tired of fan boys and EA fans making Spore to be the best thang ever. We all have an opinion and a right to share them. If opinions bother you so much why are you in an open forum for general discussion. Seems like you have the problem here not ppl who arent happy with Spore. Spore is OK at best and boring at worst. Thats just my opinion about SPORE, not you, and it shouldnt bother you unless youre just too sensetive.

The game is good and 2-3 expansion packs can make it awsome but i cant see that happening. Every time i look at the Sims 2 i get more and more convinced that spore will end up with 10-15 editor parts packs and 10 expansion's filled with chopped up features.

(Oh my god! A Non-Chelkan post)

While I can understand the need for unhappy people to vent and such, what I have a ahrd time accepting is that there are people posting "Should I hate this game" posts. It's along the lines of asking a very volatile group of people if they wanted to starve, or eat a baby. It comes down to, make your own SPORE mind up, say it if it hasn't been echoed a billion times already, and move on.

I actually like this game.

However, I am really upset about the extremely low-res textures on buildings and vehicles in game. It really is a big issue for a lot of people.

Also, I am not affected by the single account issue since I am single and live alone, I feel for all the people that have families that wanted to play this with them, but are currently forced to buy multiple copies if each player wants to full Spore experience. Specially for a game like this which is marketed and designed for EVERYONE to play. I am standing up for them and consumer rights when i voice my support for these people.

I love Spore, but I am still disappointed in it. It is a primitive RPG at best, functional gameplay options are less versatile than games from the 16-bit era and some games from the 8-bit era. What I originally wanted to play Spore for was for the procedurally generated interactions, where the usefulness of various parts actually lended a deep strategy element to the gameplay, but it turns out the only things procedurally generated are the animations. There is no complex collision detection or physics engine that handles anything, it's all stat-based, and the stats themselves are simple and shallow.

In terms of complexity the only appeal of Spore lies in its aesthetics. I make lots of creatures and love every second of it, but the engine itself gives no incentive to be creative.

The only few things I hate about the game is the tribal animation (creature wags arms after he stopped walking, but I don't hate that so much as it is a minor annoyance) and the DRM, fix those things, and the game WILL be perfect.

I die a little bit inside everytime the Chelkan empire doesn't post.

I'm down for that. Of course, productive threads about the games flaws and things that could be improved should go in the Suggestions/Feedback forums.

LMAO

Game is out only a short few days and already people are crying expansion expansion. As for te bugs. well I haven't had any as of yet. Well, maybe one. I completed the tribal phase on hard and didn't get an achievement for it. No, I didn't cheat so no joker badge to block my progress.

Game is a bit overwhelming when you hit space. Hard to get to places that need your love when your across the galaxy.

I am sure there are plenty of bugs that need to be patched, and I am sure EA will put a patch out as soon as one is ready. This is not an MMO and patches are not put out on the fly. The company will collect as many bug complaints as possible and put them into a single patch. Then repeat if needed. This will take some time.

The game itself seems fine to me. I am amused.

The operator spent $100 on SPORE Galactic Edition and is very pleased, but he would rather have the SPORE Creature Creator's editor rather than the one in the final release, and "hi-res textures everywhere ingame on everything that is in the field of view".
