They need to give size reference... That fish looks really small, I'm betting this zprints are the size of a quarter coin.
On the second example we see a dressed creature... soo... (I think price it's about right, for collectors, until we can all have zprinters at home for 50$... dreaming here) Grainy colour, kinda tried to make look as bad picture, smells bad.

Looking at the gallery pics, I would estimate the base to be about 2 - 2.5" in diameter.

Has anyone else noticed that the creature on the first post is the creature that's on the cover of Spore?

50$ is way too much for me. It may be a fair price if you consider how hard it is to do 3-d printing but that doesn't mean it will match everyone's budgets. I mean, we all wasted our last 50$ buying Spore in the first place!

I would prefer bringing them to life. A great transformation from ideas on a computer to a living being! But nonliving lifeless carved colored figures are fine too. I would like Raleradus to come to life, but a little statue is good.

Mainly because I would love to see anyone try to make a sculpture out of these two...

when you first mentioned this to me yesterday, i didn't even think of that. not only would i want some of my stuff, but i would want sculptures of your fairies to add to my collection, especially the one you made for me, that one would be a must no matter what.

definately would like to know if they can do buildings, i have a few of those i'd like to get.

Alright, deal Though by our next gift giving occasion they hopefully will have refined the process to allow for the feathers on her. They're short, so I don't see why not

So, can you get sculptures of vehicles and buildings, too? =D

Mmm, I may get one.

This looks really cool.

The only problem with my spore creation is that it has filter mouths on the sides of it's mouth. Would that be too hard to make?

I don't think they can make buildings or ships. You'd need to export the model and zprint-it yourselves... A cubic measure of maximum size is needed. I'm somehow maybe ineterested... but I need more information. This has the Spore logo on it, so guess we're on our own... I'll try the contact link "third party"...

Well, since it can do clothing, I'm pretty much sold on it... unfortunately I have the problem that I don't know which of my creations to make, especially since my first choice, my Jabberwock, isn't going to work with the limitations. I don't have a 'favorite' creation to work from.

An idea of the width of the base would be nice, too.

I'm also wondering if C&C and the insect limbs are going to be available.

I think I'll hold off a bit, see how more of them turn out, and then make the final decision.

Hmmm, I'm gonna have to contact those guys...

Can we print things besides creatures?

Can we get creatures with clothes from the clothing editor?

Can we print off creatures with floating parts, like this:

Can we get service from outside America?

What if our creatures used hacks?

Well, I better go ask them. Not sure how long it'll be 'til I get a response...

first of all, obviously floating creatures can't be printed, or actually it probably could be, if you could find a way in real life the magically hold the separate parts together. (i'm sure they could print the individual floating parts)

for people who are wondering what kind of limitations there are though, huser posted a very good youtube video on the first page of this thread which shows some pretty complicated things can be sculpted. You should check out the video, it was fascinating.
