I dunno.. I honestly dont even know what kind of tool that is. But this is a game-based issue, and it isnt even an opinionated one. Its factual, and affects the game itself, so it surely merits attention. A response here isnt important to me, and probably not to most ppl, but some kind of response somewhere is understandably expected.

OKay that true ther are other issues with the game but his one could be fixed with a simple changein the distance ratio 1 could travel near the core.

see this is such a simple fix !I mean I would use the mod and have before but then I stopped. I don't like the idea of having to cheat to beat a game.

Why cant they just take ten minutes and fix it. don't move the planets just increase the range a person can travel near the core or

set an achievement increases it

for example

Achievement- Master Navigator * must successfully travel navigate to 80% of all core stars or across the core 6 times)

for getting this you get

No travel restriction near the core.

really anything would work. how is the density of the core greater then the worm/blackhole?

hell they dont have to say a word just fix it

Two words. Expansion Pack.
Quite probably there will be a solution to this problem, but you'll have to pay 40 quid for it.

There is a space adventures EP due out Q1 next year, I would imagine/hope there is something inherent in that that addresses this issue. I suspect they didn't test to see if the Grox could be defeated - it seems they were a bit of a late add-on to the game, probably after someone played it for a bit and thought, um... this is a bit thin... so they stuck in an unachievable goal to keep everyone duly occupied.

your probably right there, with the expansion, they probably made an un acheivable goal to keep people occupied while they bring out an expansion that will make it acheivable, it will probably add to the Grox story line, so if you defeat them all it will ruin your game since the expansion will have no story line

Either that or you have to reset your galaxy.

Well I will keep pushing for an answer because if this is the case then they did it on purpose and that will be the end of the spore experience for me!

Well Im am starting to believe that perhaps some of the Neighsayers are correct and like many other legit questions this one might not be answered.

I have sent Msgs to 6 Mods 2 of which were admins and have yet to get a single reply.

The 2 admins are online right now.

I wish I could say I have even got a reply saying they are looking into it but as of yet I have not even earned that much of a reply.

When you are developing new products to add to Spore our opinion matters but when we ask you ab out flaws in the current game we dont matter.

So when you want us to spend more money we and our input are important but once we have been separated with our cash we no longer are worthy of your time. Unless its to tell us we are coming close to breaking a rule of the forum or TOS.

The complete lack of any feedback directly or indirectly from MAxis or EA is disgusting.
I am well aware of the fact there are thousands of threads spanning hundreds of topics and that they can not reply to every single one.

When the community was ready to TAR and FEATHER Chris Hecker for dumbing down the game this got the lead developer Will Wright to jump into the conversation . Halfassed as the reply was at least it was something.

I would understand a thread raising questions about DRM or Copywrites not being answered since those are questions best left to lawyers.
Some other questions asked here are either pure speculation or might be boardering on future expansions.

This might fall into the last catagory or it might not.
If the unreachable Grox worlds are there as a matter of purposeful design then I don't need details on what they are being used for in the future only that the world will be made reachable in future expansion.

If its not a matter of an expansion then what is being done to fix the issue now that players have made you aware.
I can give you links to pages of spore mods that fix the corelimit issue if need be!I would rather play and defeat the grox using a revised limit near the core created by Maxis and say I did it legit then cheat my way to vicotry.

I don't understand how MAXIS or EA can request for us the players to remain Postive and constuctive when they offer no dialog in return other then to givce dismissive answers or defend their obviously poor development and marketing tactics.

You want to be treated with respect by the community then return the favor. You are not above us you are held up by us( the customer) keep treating us like crap and ignoring us and see how long your companies last.
I have no doubt you can sustain your buisness model for a long time to come by cnabalizing smaller up and comming game companies but somewhere down the road you will either have to change the way you deal with us or one of these smaller companies will reject your next offer and create a game and a method of dealing with it customers that will appeal to the masses of gamers and we will leave you behind like an EX girl friend we don't want to talk to anymore.

Your company will wither and die making pisspoor sports games until it winks out of existance or is absorbed by a more successful rival company.

Back to the topic at hand

This Question only needs a very quick response.

1 We are aware and we are fixinn it in a patch
2. We are aware and are not fixing it until exapansion
3. We are not fixing it and then explain why.

Now
1 is the answerI hope for
2 Is the answer I feel aswell as other feel is most likely and by far the most dishonest. Expansions should enhance game play not be there to allow you to finish it.
3 Leave me wondering if they either A . Dont care B Are slowly moving away from SPOOR to another project leaving this experiment of a game to have its lasst Exapnsion and die.

I might come across as a SPORE but I call it how I see it ! I do expect some reply even if its to tell me to drop it.
If I am told that then I atleast know where all customes stand with this company/Parent company and developers and mods.

What game developer would create a game with an enemy that can't be defeated yet has an achievement for their defeat.!

I tend to frown on protests, boycotts, a lot of the negative stuff that occurs in here but you have my support on this one. I am one of the people who has started a thread asking about the unreachable planets. Some of you were quite kind and helpful with suggestions but of course the question has remained unanswered. This is one of those times when the term "pick your battles" applies and I happen to agree that this is extremely relevant to our gameplay. Video games generally have a goal and aside from reaching the center of the galaxy and earning the Staff Of Life for each planet, killing off the Grox is a goal for the majority of us so we would really appreciate knowing if this is (or will be) achievable.
Callmepopy, I love your siggie. I like the creature and I love the message.
Ashloc, thank you for starting this thread and for keeping it going. I love my Spore game, I have almost nothing negative to say but I too would like to know how to kick the crap out of the Grox and we need to reach those planets.

My husband asked this question the week the game released. A whole bunch of people where posting and asking the maxoids for an answer. The sporemasters gave the same cookie cutter reply then too. We will pass the info along but we can't make them answer. It seems like nothing has changed.

I seriously think that they didn't fully test the game. I am a day 1 sims player. So I have been playing EA games since the beginning. They have never fully tested anything. So I think they are trying to come up with a patch or an expansion pack that will fix the problem. That is their standard way of doing things. Clam up, not deal with the community, and eventually release an untested and buggy patch that will "help" the problem. Then the patch causes so many issues, that the patch is taken down or needs to be repatched.

Why do I say this? It has happened with EVERY single sims expansion packs for the sims 1 and the sims 2.... even some of the stuff packs..... They even release expansion and stuff packs based on earlier builds of the game. Which means that the stuff that they add, isn't fully compatible with the items and gameplay released in other stuff packs/expansions. Sims players are used to this. So don't really count on an answer from EA or MAXIS any time soon. This is their standard M. O.

Incompetence is their standard M.O. huh?

- Nihilism is wishful thinking in a forum filled with people who worship EA as a god.
- Creationism vs Evolution is a moot point: People stupid enough to argue about it obviously don't have the capacity to survive among the fittest, and God simply wouldn't create anything quite as stupid as they are.
