it seems like they didn't finish making a beam down feature so they left the slow-moving wraith unable to interact with anything in and edited it to look holographic.

Yeah I just spent ages getting the hologram only to find out it's just a huge slow piece of... technology.

Mine is way too big as well... anyone else get the feeling that when this game was released it wasn't quite finished?

I do love the game though - but I feel a bit cheated that I'm gonna have to pay for expansions to get alot of stuff that should have been released with it in the first place... grrr

My suggestion to you is to make the game you want to play. EA is a big company with lots of interests. And if you've ever worked for a large corporation, you would understand this readily.

Question is, how much will the expansion cost?
I think that 20 dollars just for that is just too much.

Depends what else they put in... I'm expecting more than just the ablility to walk around on planets and a few more quests.

You can do one thing with the Hologram. You can use it to pick up artifacts instead of using the tractor beam on your ship. Find an artifact, then switch to the hologram, walk up to the artifact and click on it with your cursor and it will take the artifact. I thought that was pretty neat. It will be nice to do more when the expansion comes out.

some of these features are in the space expansion for spring, along with a boatload of others. It just took more time.

Please don't start arguing about expansions now.

Ok I've finally did enough missions to get the hologram scout. I love it, it puts me back in touch with my creature that I had lost a connection to for so long and gives you a reason to stop at plantes you'de normaly skip. Too bad it just doesn't do much as of yet. It definatly should have been easier to aquire earlier in Space stage it would have kept the players more conected to their creature and it's not usefull enough to warant the trouble getting in the late game.

Well, my third time to post this, but I'd like to see if anyone knows about 'swimming' with the Hologram Scout. You have to find a certain form, (Gently sloped beaches.), of terrain to walk into the water.

You see, as I played around with Spore in Space Stage, I wondered about swimming with the Holo Scout.

This was me playing with the local Epic...thing. We had fun; I got tossed a few hundred yards. We laughed, I cried...the usual. You'll notice that the Epic, I lured it into the lake I terraformed previously, 'walks' underwater.

Then I went to another planet and viewed the quaint docks of the Civ Stage world. Soon after, I was pulled by an enormously powerful current. I swam a little, and it stopped. I ignored it, thinking it was my imagination.

Then I experimented by terraforming a rocky world into a molten nightmare.

At lava's edge.
After leveling the world completely, I took the plunge.
In lava.

Now...here's where the current appeared, once more, and I let it take me. I thought it would take me around the planet, but...here's where I encountered the 'Flying Chieftain' glitch.

I was launched out into space, I take it.

Here's where I flew into the star.

Anyway, I solved it by simply beaming back into the ship. It would've been impossible to leave the planet, otherwise.

Well, thanks for waiting! Here's a video of the...'feature'. I had to make the planet from T1 to T3 because I felt the planet needed attention. So I made a nearly completely deluged world because I'm thorough like that.

Sadly, the planet reset after I left.
I'll post some pictures of the planet in the "In Regard to 'Glitches'" topic under Spore Help. That's the main glitch I'm bugged about. All that work...gone!

Also, when you use the Holo Scout, you can still control the ship by clicking in the mini map. Turns out on T0 worlds those hazards only spawn when the ship is present. If you send the ship away, the area calms down.
Glitch? Or feature?

You decide!
