Below is a list of common issues and links to the Spore Support Site answers for them. The troubleshooting here will resolve the majority of game issues.

Following these steps also helps everyone in the Tech help process out by eliminating common issues. Also, if you note in your posts that you have tried these steps it prevents everyone suggesting the same thing again. It also means that if you do reach the point where you need to contact our Support Team you can tell them some of the steps you have taken which helps them trouble shoot your issue.

First, make sure that your system meets the minimum requirements for the game. If you system does not meet the minimum requirements that game is not supported. Please also be aware that if your system only just meets the minimum requirements you may not be able to use some of the advanced game settings:

There are a few steps you should always try before you post your issue. In many cases these can resolve common conflicts and, even if they don't fix your issue, they allow you to rule out possible culprits so that we can learn more about your issue and you can get more specific help.

Before You Install
Make sure to prep your machine before you install to avoid installation conflicts and errors.

Is Everything Up-To-Date?
Most crashing and poor performance issues are caused by out of date drivers, particularly video drivers. This FAQ will guide you through identifying and updating your drivers.

End Background Tasks
This ensures that other programs are not causing a conflict as well as freeing up resources for the game.

Spore is supported on Windows Vista, but you are experiencing any issues on a Vista system the FAQ on playing the game on Windows Vista may help improve the game performance.

EA Download Manager
If you are having trouble with the EA Download manager, fist make sure that the email address you are using to log in with matches the email address you used to purchase Spore.

If you are having trouble running Spore on your Mac please ensure that you meet the minimum system requirements (see above).

How to Post About Your Issue
If you are still having an issue, this section is the right place to post it and get help from other community members. Before you post a new thread, try searching to see if a thread already exists about your issue. When posting, make sure to include as much information as possible so that you can get the best help possible.

Examples of good information include:
--A CLEAR SUBJECT LINE! (It really helps!)
--Your OS and Hardware Information
--A Detailed Description of Your Issue
--What You Have Already Tried
--Any Other Helpful Information
