Hey all. I just bought Spore today from my local Best Buy. Anyway, I keep getting a redundancy error. My question for you guys is, is there anyway I can download the game from a site (via download manager)? I have the registration/serial code from my box. I don't want to pay again for the game. But, the only way I can install/play is from a downloader. Thanks in advance.

The error is Redundancy error Badge.gif. It's like the second thing you install. My Drive makes a weird noise, and then says it can't install it. I really want to play, but I can't through the CD.

can your drive run other cd's well?

yes. Some. It has trouble only on a few. And my computer can run it. I just don't think I can with the CD. Is there any other way I can install it?

To me, it sounds like a defective disk. Try to return it to the store you got it from.
I believe that the redundancy error means that it found the file multiple times, which it shouldn't.

Well. I got the error on The CC as well. But I finally got that installed. Seriously, there's not a way I can download from a site, as long as I have my serial number/registration key? I'm not paying another $50! It seems unusual in this day and age to have a game that doesn't have a digital download version in case you lose the CD/break it.

Just to keep everyone updated. I got it near the end. Now it's giving the error on the last file. the .txt one.

Now I'm stuck on what I would assume is the German language. Support/el-gr/readme.txt

I bought Spore today and I'm getting a cyclic redundancy check error on badge.gif as well. As far as I can tell it's a disk error and EA let a bad batch of DVDs on the market.

I'm going to Gamestop tomorrow to get a replacement, I hope this doesn't happen with the next one.
