I've read a topic which stated you can create a new profile to create a fresh galaxy. How exactly do I create a new profile? From what I've read, this will take up another "installation slot", but I can't find any info about it whatsoever.

Is there anyone who could take me through it? I've been fiddling around with my current profile, and I have all planet slots filled, but I don't want to delete my progress in that galaxy and start afresh.

Thanks in advance!

Good question...I haven't seen any way to do that.

Only viable method from what I can see is, delete everything you have. (Creatures, buildings, saved games... etc)

Only way I know is to shuffle around the save-game folders. In Windows XP, they're usually in something like "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\SPORE\Games" (replacing "<username>" with your actual windows username). Note that "Application Data" is usually a hidden folder, so you may have to turn on "show hidden" in your Windows folder options.

The "Game0" folder is your galaxy. If you rename it to something else, such as "Game0_galaxy1", and create an empty "Game0" folder, Spore will start a new galaxy in that folder. You can then just rename them back and forth, and Spore will run with whichever one is currently called "Game0". I have no idea if it supports a "Game1" or anything like that.

On the strategy forum, someone told me that at the login screen, you can create a new username using the SAME email account, and it gives you a new galaxy, fresh saves, etc.

If this is true this will make my wife very happy. She's not even playing the game because of her disappointment in this one email/username thing.

Is there any way we can get official confirmation/denial about this?

I'll try it when I get home, but... other than that... wait for an EA post?

I don't see any reason why you can't make a new profile using a different email address and just log in as the different one for your new galaxy. I guess I could try doing it right now and see if it works.

I don't see a way to log in with a different username and the same email though, because Spore doesn't even ask for a username. Just an email and a password.

There are usernames though, because my Sporepedia is linked to "Lomerell", my same name as here on the boards, which has NOTHING to do with my email login. At some point I picked the username.

You can't use a different email because EA has said one game copy = 1 email address USER.

I am thinking when I first installed, though, I was asked my email address, from which it pulled my username. There must be a way to create additional usernames, in which case we'd have additional fresh galaxies.

And my source on the hints/strats forums said that he had done just that. I just haven't done it myself to try yet.

Does anyone know how to duplicate this strategy on a Mac?
