From xSpore.com...
http://www.xspore.com/news/708_spore-asymmetry-mod.html

Don't you hate it when you go to create a creature, and everything is mirrored unless you place it down the center of a creature? Well this modification fixes that. Now you can create 100% true asymmetrical creatures *and* it works in all of the other editors.

The modification was found at http://spore.vg (There are a couple of other modifications there as well).

1. Download the asymmetry mod.
2. Place the file inside of your Data directory found in the Spore installation directory. You will see other .package files there, that's where this goes.
3. You're done!

Oh and share the love, let everyone know about this.. It'll increase Spore's popularity, digg the article..

I've been working on this guy for the past couple days. I'm unable to upload him due to the complexity bug, but he is shareable. I don't know quite how that works. He's awesome though. Got me the Cerberus hidden achievement.

I posted this in Tips and Strategy as well, along with the other mods.

It's good the word gets out.

very cool indeed, now the next mod i'm looking forward to is the removal of that SPORE complexity limit.

Oh, keep in mind: you have to take the mod out of your data folder (I made a separate folder for keeping mods not in use) to use the symmetry snap again. The symmetry snap is useful after all. Also keep in mind that asymmetrical parts on your character that are off to the side are still treated as two symmetrical parts by the game's complexity engine, and so it adds double complexity to put a part off to the side, whether or not the second symmetrical copy appears. If you have the mod off and go back in to edit an asymmetrical item, it will make the item reappear. This can actually be used to create floating parts, something I plan to play with sometime.

There's a cheat to do that...

Press shift + crtl + c to access the console. Type help to view commands.

Also, are they uploadable to the server, assuming you meed the complexity requirement?

I wasn't able to upload mine but that was because of the complexity bug =/

Oooh, I wonder if creatures with complexity limit removed are shareable, if not uploadable...

Excellent, this is the mod I've been sorely needing. Been loathing the limitations of not being able to offset things and everything having to be symmetrical. Especially when it came to vehicle and starship building.

How do the creatures created with the mod animate in game? Smooth enough?

The Empire must ask what this modification does to central database [Spore Server] transmissions.

Intriguing...

If someone who has used this mod could help me out a lil...

Is it possible, using this mod, to create an asymetrical vehicle, save, close the game and remove the mod from the data folder, then renter the creator and edit with the symetry snap, then close, place the mod back in the folder and do more asymetry stuff, rinse, repeat?
