I did the 1st mission (I have only... I dunno lv. 6) and got an artifact. But it was on a Grox planet. When I took it, they started war with me! How do I stop this madness

How do you get the planet buster?

Colonist 5 (place 200 Colony Buildings) or Conqueror 5 (capture 50 planets) Badge.

Always save when dealing within Grox systems.

bobanater's here to help! to get that medal, you need to chang your archetype (i think thats what its called)so like you have Gravity Swell(?) and then Static Cling.

Ally with a Lv4 or 5 empire that follows a different Philosophy to your own and from the missions list choose "Teach me your ways", paying them a hefty sum (up to 10 million Spucks) and following the mission instructions. Once you have done that and go back to the planet, you change your archetype, receive their superpower and get both the Split Personality Badge and Achievement.

So, is "blowing up planets" using the planet buster?

Yes. Just make sure you don't use the Planet Buster on a planet actually colonised by the Grox...

Isn't it theoretically possible to gain BOTH secret badges?

Dance with the Devil: Ally Grox
Badge Outta Heck: Beat Grox

This is a very interesting topic. I didn't think it was possible to ally with the Grox. Call me a coward, but I dreaded the thought of facig them, and always ignore my allies whenever the Grox send ships to them. I've quite a ways to go before I feel comfortable enough in my corner of the galaxy to take on the task of allying the Grox, but this cerainly seems like a good strategy! Thanks for making this topic, it's really useful. ^^
