Alright, so many of us hate Spore for making it so hard to find a single planet amongst a billion red, yellow and blue dots.
So.. as it turns out... you can actually TRACK A PLANET! (Woot)
God I almost deliberately ran my head into a wall after I found this little feature.
So what you do... While in space stage (in-game, not on the menu screen), OPEN YOUR SPOREPEDIA (click on Sporepedia on the bottom left corner of the interface)
Your Sporepedia will come up. Only this time it looks slightly different. It has got your allies, and your enemies and... *takes a breath* PLANETS! Thats right!
And oh my god... there's a search box on the top... so when I have a stupid "find blah blah blah on planet Blah" i can type in Blah in the search box and voila.. there's planet Blah!
Now all I have to do is click on the planet's card... on those three dots "..." and it'll open the "preview screen" or whatever people call it.
And on the bottom right of that screen, where your "share, edit" and whatnot buttons are located, you will find a button with a small compass that says "TRACK PLANET"
Click that and a pointer will appear on top of that planet's star system. It looks just like your "Home" pointer, but its range isn't as far, so if you don't see it you're probably zoomed out too far, or just too far from that planet.
Also, this will only work in star systems that you have visited.
Enjoy! Hope this helps those stupid "find that there and bring it back here" missions.
