It would probably also render the orbit of the planet potentially unstable, which might be (very) problematic. So I think that it would create more problems then it is worth.

I would say that I am against it due to the number of complications that would arise, but I'm not strongly against it.

I say nah. It may be interesting for a nearby planet, for once we make it to the space age.

I agree with you. Besides, the planet's gravity would probably have ripped ours while it was in formation, which wouldbe rather problematic for us.

Now, concerning the other things. The poll is coming to a close. One more vote and I'll close it.

As I said before, it would be preferable if everyone put population statistics and kept track of the time flowing in each of his IC posts. Because otherwise we can't correlate different events, and can't say if some acts are realistic or not. Each research post, I hear by that, of course, not telephoning.

Also, how many hours should there be in a day?

And, to conclude the debate, should the planet have any moons?

Hmm. I have 2 plausible things for the day - night cycle.
On the time when the days and nights are equal: 24 hours of night, 24 hours of day. We sleep twice or more depending on our biology each of the 24 hours.
Or, 26.1 counting day and night together.

On the debate: One, or two. If not, then that guy's species wouldn't make any sense.

As for the population and time flow: I'm going 5 year sequence, which year of that 5 years, and month. Should I go lower? And I'm counting population.

Kaleb, are you asking us which year of the cycle you should be in, as well as which month?

It's up to you, really. You shouldn't bother to ask others.

And I don't really understand why you're talking about the equinox. Do you mean there should be 48 hours in a day, basically?

I don't see why we shouldn't have any moons. So you will probably have no need to rewrite your species' culture.
