so, about 15 minutes ago, i looked at the spore sculptor to see if maybe i could get my favorite creature, my avatar, made into a sculpture.

but it's $50!!! why? I would love it if someone, preferably a developer, would let me know the reason why.

stay cool!

This process is relatively new, and so 50$ for a custom figurine is not bad at all. The real problem, i feel, comes with the shipping.

The process is the same for every sculpture. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.

I don't really have a problem with the $50, but I have a problem that most of my creatures have small parts. I guess some of the later ones would work, but too many of the ones I'd like modelled have feathers, feelers, etc.

Guess I'll just have to do them in Fimo myself.

Ashkelon is so crazy in love she could care less what ya'll are up to these days. Yeah. Sweet.

I'd pay the price they currently list if the figurine was ceramic or of higher quality. The ones they have really don't seem worth the price, decent as they are.

If they ever manage to replicate the texture correctly, then I may consider dishing out the cash.

in my mind, its a cool idea, sure the price is high, but this is, based on what i seen, very complex technology so it no wonder that the price is what it is. to tell you the truth if i get enougth money for one, i'll get one of my avatar creature and live with the low detail. and who knows..they might prefet the technology and make it cheaper and more detailed to where it looks JUST LIKE IT.

if they were 7-9inch figurines that were able to be posed... I'd definitely have my favorites sculpted... but for a short one pose figurine... no, I refuse to buy one... 20 including shipping is still high, but i think its more within reason and more than makes up for the cost and service... especially since we are the ones creating the design, not them, its not like we are paying for their creative design
