ZOMG I <3 FANCLUB.

I had one. It got locked.

I've never bothered to look at them. Especially the ones that are a few hundred pages. (MUD's up to like 1.5k+, isn't it?)
What kinds of stuff do they talk about in them?

Because you made it for yourself. You can't just say "Come fans, flock to me and kiss my feet!" It's just got to happen spontaneously, by the fans.

I don't really care about them. If someone's really special, I'm fine with it if they are.

Actually, I was replying to Tuttoth, who did that. But now I see that some other people came whilst I was writing that post. I'll go back and put a quote in there...

No worries, and back on topic.

While I had my own club for a brief amount of time, I don't know if I would ever post there beyond a "Wow I'm flattered" post. I just don't believe myself more worthy than others of such recognition.

I don't think anyone is. MUD was a joke between Hatty, Moo and I and then Uno and Didzo got added into it later.

It was a joke? From the very beginning? And people wonder why PatTheWanderer got so annoyed with it never receiving the just treatment it deserved and got PERMANENTLY locked.

You're talking about fan clubs and why they should or should not exist. MUD is the only thing that will constantly and relevantly referred to in here.

Fanclubs suck and only serve as a loophole to log massive amounts of spam and to further widen the popularity rift between some of the talented creators and the rest of the forum.

Yes, I am saying this despite having my own club.

Having a place to discuss off-topic things is great, but we shouldn't need to slap people's name on the thread to do that. The Sporum should just have one single casual conversation thread, lock the fanclubs, and everyone's happy... except Didzo. You know what? A Sporum-sanctioned live chat would be amazing.

On the subject of eekgads, he is either very stupid, or very smart for illustrating why fanclubs suck.
