Patch and Game Issues

The first patch in the videogame history that need another patch to fix the bugs of the first patch, congratulations.

Isnt it time for a patcha again? I cant play the game for days now.... When i leave homeplanet it crashes..

I tried all solutions, but nothing is working for me....

The next patch can never come too soon.

HOWEVER

Please make sure the patch only FIXES stuff, and not add a bunch of other glitches like the last one did. So please take those few extra days for debugging. I'd rather have to wait another week for an actual fix then get the patch now, but have to wait another MONTH for the next patch which fixes the bugs caused by the previous one.

As I've said before, a quick fix would be an 'un-patch', which removes the previous patch without the need for reinstalling, and then take your time to fix the previous patch, re-release it but now with all bugs fixed.

I can't wait for this patch to show up, 'cause like the person above me said..it can't come soon enough. Today I had the weirdest thing happen. I'm able to play just fine until the Tribal Stage with the notorious "click-hat, freeze" situation, but as I came out of the cell stage in a new game, I came out a Creature...with no color whatsoever. Background was fine, other creatures were great...ALL my Creatures were pygmys. LOL!

PLEASE MAXIS/EA...do SOMETHIN' already!!!

Can we get an official update on how the patch is coming please? I have been waiting for like 2 weeks not knowing if I will ever be able to play this game again. Can you please at least let your customers know when a fix is coming out for the faulty patch? This is the worst customer service I have ever seen, we should be able to get partial or even full refunds if this game is going to remain unplayable.

Hey I'm on board with this I'm in the pre patch life was wonderful after a little tweeking now I can't go home if I do I crash when I leave my home planet and I can do eco challenges because the vermin don't show up until the time has run out and the enemy ships don't show up until my guys are killed. I don't think there is anyone left at Maxis they all ran away when they realized what they did with this so called patch It would be nice would post an update ! if the did and I missed it I apologize but I looked pretty hard.

Ok, Ive patched my game and a for a bit it worked great but now..epic lag with music and interactions...* I did the core exe trick.. no dice.* no I have sometimes I seem them sometimes I dont with critters and esp. EPIC monsters.. It would be nice to see if Im walking into a deathtrap. Im playing on hard level.
oh computer specs.. athlon processor 2.4 ghz. nividia geforce 6103le, 2gb ram, over 300gb storage left. The computer is fairly speedy. graphics card is updated.and Im playing on low level graphics.

Yes, because spamming the feedback thread's an excellent way to get Maxis to step it up. I'm sure they don't have anything else happening in their development cycle right now.

Spoken by someone I bet who has no issues. OH.. more fun in my game it now crashes everytime I hit tribal stage the same exact moment.

This is not good for EA, i am pissed and also alot of other people.... I am trying to contact EA, but they didnt come with a solution again... Now i wait again for the next answer....

There is a temporary fix that was posted a few weeks ago by one of the Maxis people.

Locate the icon you double click to start spore, and instead of double clicking it, right click it. Then from the popup shortcut menu, left click properties. This will open the shortcut properties.

There should be a text box labeled Target to the left of it. Click inside that box, and move the cursor all the way to the right. You should see something similar to this in the box:
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\SPORE\Sporebin\SporeApp.exe"

At the end of it, you'll likely see a minus sign followed by something about it being the US or English version. Delete it and copy and paste this in it's place. -jobPriority:0

It has to go outside the quotes, at the end of it for this to work. This should clear up most problems that people are having.

The whole target should look like this when your done.

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\SPORE\Sporebin\SporeApp.exe" -jobPriority:0

On Vista this is located on the Shortcut tab of the properties dialog box

To the administration of the website, I apologize if I'm not supposed to link images, but this is my own and I simply wanted to help people. If it's a problem I will remove it.

I will re-thread this in a seperate one in a day or two along with a picture of the Vista version of this shortcut.

Well that workaround does provide a tiny bit of relief. I'm still having invisible critters , which is inconvenient when trying to fight and you cant because you have NO TARGET. Invisble EPICS really suck. There was an improvement but not perfect with the impress actions. ANd I finally saw the flock I summoned.
