I've just downloaded the different language-versions of the manuals from the EA-server. The "misprint" doesn't exist any longer in the US and UK versions of the manual (the files have been changed the day before yesterday) - in all other language versions (or at least those languages I can understand enough to check) the "misprint" is still existing.

To me it seems as though EA doesn't plan to change anything regarding their account-policy.

This is why every game should be distributed though STEAM. All problems go away.

Is this game out yet? I bought the BETA version last weekend and I was hugely disappointed.

screenshot will follow soon

how odd that this misspelling is present to all the language versions they have?

actually both screenshots as I'll show a sceenshot from what I'm downloading now as well.

I've checked german myself already. But if you still want to check the polish version, you have to download all the manuals (it's a big zip-file, 146 MB)

Guys, lets stop the name calling. It won't help anyone.

They can change the online documentation all they want, I have the original manual sitting in front of me. Still says I can have MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS.

At this point I almost just want to find a pirated copy so my wife and I can both play online. However, I don't want to screw someone else by taking their registration code so they can get NO ACCOUNTS online.

Come one EA. Give us something.

Rebbel: add NL to that. Page 62 of the Dutch manual in that download also has the "misprint"

I just happen to catch joreel's comment on another thread in the general chat section. He said his son and he just play on different planets.

Not saying this is a great fix or anything like that, but it could possibly be a work around for some people that might ease some problems. Just make sure all your household accounts from the creature creator are buddies and that will allow everyone to use your existing characters.

Again I know it's not a fix to the problem but it does sound like a decent workaround. Also I know it won't help those who have multiple computers, but it's better than nothing....

I see the point in two people sharing a game...
However we r talking about online content here. Publishing and downloading it. Game functionality stays intact.

the problem is present if:
1) you got a little brother who will do explicit creatures and effectively will have your account blocked.
2) someone accientaly deleted/overwrited your own creations/planets
3) you have two machines (laptop for yourself, PC for kids) then you need to choose which of them will not have the online content.

In my situation I hoped I'll be able to share my creations with my gf, (exchange pics, creatures ect) as its fun and we often live separately due to our lifestyle. It's fun if you can have a common game you can play and share even being miles away!

If I'd know such a game would cost me more than $100 I would never have it bought (as there are other games, of course different, but still giving me the same for less $$$) Counter-Strike for instance I am not entirely sure if my GF can compete me in CS

regards,
rebbel

As I did mention, I know it's not a complete fix and it's not like having multiple log ins. But it might help some families get around the one log in problem for now. Just trying to help cool down some tempers.

Once again, nobody here is talking about running multiple profiles (accounts) online SIMULTANEOUSLY. That would/should/does require multiple purchases of the game, multiple accounts, multiple cd-keys, and multiple machines.

What folks want and should have is the ability to create multiple profiles for use ONE AT A TIME.

This is really nothing more than a way to manage/organize/seperate your creation content to the person who actually CREATED it.

Not allowing multiple profiles is in no way a "performance/load" issue, nor is it a "misprint". It's simply EA being draconian silly on trying to force multiple purchases of the game.

If I create 100 creatures and my wife creates 100 creatures, then it makes NO load/server difference whether or not those you end up with 200 creatures created by Soulwind (now) or 100 by Soulwind and 100 by Soulwind's Wife. It's STILL 200 creatures.

The only thing this does is create personal content organization headaches for the end-users and THAT'S IT !!!!

And again I have said that I know it's not a solution, but it CAN be a workaround for some people. Did I say everyone? No. Did I say I hoped it might help a few? Yes. This was not an argument for what was to be the reason why, it was simply a suggestion in which might help some people to play the game the obviously like.

Please learn to read and comprehend.

I put this on my website, but I think it bears repeating:

MaxisLucky suggests that if each installation allowed even a single extra user, their server capacities would be maxed out with creatures. Technically speaking they should have already considered this possibility, with slots for 8 save games. 8 games means 8 evolutionary creations by... you guessed it... 8 possible users. Since more games can't be saved, it makes no difference if one user takes up 8 slots or 8 users take up one slot a piece.

BTW, anyone that has screenshots/scans from the international language manuals, please PM me. I'd like to get those JPGs and add them to my article.

Thanks!
